Discovery Tour: Viking Age

Discovery Tour by Assassin's Creed: Viking Age is an educational and exploration mode for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. As with the previous Discovery Tour by Assassin's Creed titles, Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt, this content was prepared in consultation with historians and archaeologists. Special mode was developed and published by Ubisoft, the company responsible for the brand. It is available as a free update to Assassin's Creed: Valhalla or as a standalone paid game.

Plot

Discovery Tour by Assassin's Creed: Viking Age takes us on a journey into the world known from Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. By exploring 9th century England and Norway in the guise of specially crafted characters, players can experience what Europe was like in the titular 'Viking Age'.

Mechanics

In contrast to previous games under the banner of Discovery Tour by Assassin's Creed, in Viking Age developers resigned from preparing thematic tours around the game world. During the game we play as various characters and complete tasks set before us, experiencing various adventures. While exploring the game world, we often come across discovery sites, focused on specific aspects of the Viking and Anglo-Saxon culture and tradition. In them we find pictures of objects made available by institutions from Great Britain, France and Denmark cooperating with the publisher.

In terms of exploration the game offers us the freedom known from the basic version of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (we move around the game world on foot, on horseback or by boat). However, we got rid of the opponents (by the way, it's hard to find any violence here) and all the limitations resulting from their presence in Eivor's adventure. The interface also remained unchanged.

Technical aspects

In terms of technical quality the graphics of Discovery Tour by Assassin's Creed: Viking Age does not differ from what we know from Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.
