NASCAR Heat 2 is a yet another installment in the racing series about the NASCAR, rebooted in 2016. The game has been developed by Monster Games and published on PC, PS4 and XONE by 704Games (previously known as Dusenberry Martin Racing). Interestingly enough, the developer has also created the original, considered by many as iconic, 2000's NASCAR Heat, NASCAR Heat 2002, and NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona.
Mechanics
The game does not introduce any significant changes to the gameplay mechanics, and the player once again gets to participate in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and race on over twenty real tracks from the 2016-17 season. Because of the possibility to choose between the arcade and simulation driving model, both the seasoned and beginning players can participate in the races. Similarly to the previous installments, the game acquired many official sponsors (among which one can find companies such as Toyota), thus the PC, PS4 and XONE release of NASCAR Heat 2 features real teams and racers.
Game modes
The PC, PS4 and XONE release of NASCAR Heat 2 revolves around the career mode, in which a player not only has to win consecutive races but also manage his racing team. Moreover, players can test their skills against other players from all around the world by playing the online multiplayer mode.
Technical aspects
Similarly to the previous installment, NASCAR Heat 2 delivers decent visuals. One is bound to appreciate the fidelity to their real-life counterparts, with which the vehicle models were recreated.
