Sandstorm is a premium expansion pack for the turn based strategy game Order of Battle: World War II, which utilizes a free-to-play model with microtransactions. It was developed by The Aristocrats.

Plot

In Order of Battle: Sandstorm you play as Erwin Rommel, who commanded the Axis powers in North Africa from 1941 to 1943. Thanks to his genius tactics, Rommel quickly became a living legend among his soldiers and enemies alike. Your task is to defeat your opponents and reach the Suez Canal.

Mechanics

The campaign in Order of Battle: Sandstorm consists of 14 scenarios set in North Africa. During the game, you participate in famous battles, including Tobruk and El Alamein, and a fictional mission on Malta. In addition, the DLC adds many more Italian units, such as new infantry units (Alpini and Bersaglieri), self-propelled guns (Semoventi), and agile MAS motorboats. It's worth noting that the new war theater features not only a difficult, sandy terrain, but also new dangers and obstacles (i.e. sandstorms and resource shortages).
