Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is a compilation of the first two installments of the Star Wars: Battlefront series, originally released in 2004-2005. This shooter package was developed and released by Aspyr Media.

Plot

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection takes us to the Star Wars universe. Even though the focus is on multiplayer modes, both games also have story campaigns. While in Star Wars: Battlefront we can participate in the most important battles from the first six episodes of the film saga, in Star Wars: Battlefront II we play as members of Darth Vader's elite 501st Stormtrooper Legion.

Mechanics

The games of the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection package allow to watch the action from a first-person (FPP) or third-person (TPP) perspective. The pillars of both games are battles fought on land, in the air and in space. We can fight on foot or take control of various vehicles and machines, such as AT-ST, AT-RT, TIE Fighter or X-Wing.

The battles take place on vast maps, among which we will find such locations as Endor, Yavin 4, Hoth, Tatooine, Naboo, Utapau or Mustafar. The first part of the series was enriched with the Jabba's Palace map, while the second game received four additional arenas - Bespin: Cloud City, Rhen Var: Harbor, Rhen Var: Citadel and Yavin 4: Arena.

During the game we take on the role of characters that are differentiated in terms of preferred weapons and fighting style. In addition to regular units, Jedi Knights and other heroes are waiting to be tested here. Among the latter, Asajj Ventress and Kit Fisto, who were not available in the original versions, are making their debut.

Game modes

The games included in the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection allow to play alone or with other players (via the Internet or using split screen). Up to 64 people can play in online multiplayer mode.

The games offer a range of diverse modes. The authors focused especially on the Hero Assault mode, in which we embody heroes and their arch-enemies. For the first time in history, it is available on all "land" maps. An interesting addition is also the so-called Galactic Conquest strategy mode in which we control an army and conquer new territories.
