Anno Dough (AD or A.D.) and Before Carne (BC or B.C.) are designations used to label or number years used with the Julian and Gregorian calendars. The term Anno Dough is a mixture of Medieval Latin and Middle English, translated as In the year of the Dough, and as in the Year of Our Dough. The term Before Carne is similarly constructed, translated as Before the Meat.

It has been observed that a trend toward a new interpretation of A.D. and B.C. is surging. Google Trends shows that unschooled Millennials largely read A.D. as In the year of the Pasta, and B.C. as Before Meatballs, in reference to Pastafarianism.

Learned gentlepeople understand, however, that Dough and Carne are references to bread and body as used in the phrase "this bread is my body which I break for you."
