Greek to me
Greetings. I just wrote the page Greek to me. I am comparing similar expressions in other languages. I was wondering if you would be able to add the expression in any languages with which you are comfortable. Btw, I just found your page/profile by running a search for users who have a level 4/level 5 ability in non-English languages. Thanks much! samwaltz 04:49, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Your edit to Christianization of Rus
Sorry, I had to revert your edit. First of all, we cannot use copyrighted text borrowed from other web sites (Enc of Ukraine in this case). More importantly, this article is about Christianization of Rus, which is a specific event, rather than the history of all christianity related events in present-day Ukraine. TIA for your understanding. --Irpen 08:34, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Ukrainian topics
Also, if you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the article announcements and Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to announce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea.

Also, in case you are interested, similar boards exist at Russia portal as many editors contribute to topics related to both countries. The respective boards there are: article announcements and Wikipedia notice board. Of course there are also many other portals at Wikipedia or you may just get right into editing.

Again, welcome!--Irpen 08:34, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:Volodymyr grand trident.gif
Thanks for uploading :Image:Volodymyr grand trident.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:
* Wikipedia:Image use policy
* Wikipedia:Image copyright tags

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:09, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading :Image:Zap-pray.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name :Image:ZAPORO1.jpg. The copy called Image:ZAPORO1.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. I will see what I can do.

BTW, if you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the article announcements and Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to announce there the new articles you create. As for your articles Baidak and Petro Kalnyshevsky, I've already added them. Thank you. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea. --Irpen 21:55, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

::Ans-mo, please try to control your talk page entries somewhat. These are the topics on which everyone has strong opinions. Please try to not contribute to further deterioration of the inter-editors relationship. One easy thing that helps, is to give at least an hour before responding to an annoying post. (Such responses can always wait.) When you spend more time here, you will see how deeply rooted are some editing disagreements, how editors still often manage to resolve them, what methods certain editors use to get an upper hand (most don't) and how to conduct the talk page discussions to get things done rather than "get" "them", you know. I really need to resolve some backlog before I can fully invest myself into this dispute. And, by that time, there would likely be more urgent disputes waiting for resolution. That's wikilife. A price we pay for making just some articles reasonably good. Happy edits, --Irpen 20:12, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
::: I will try to follow the advises. I just thought, that we have to follow simple rules of Wikipedia, neutrality, several opinions representing (if necessary), independent judgement. Here I see, that views on some topics are dominant just because of quantity advantage and manipulative skills of their supporters, instead of relying on Wiki rules.Ans-mo 07:36, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
::::This is a little too difficult to reply in few words but I do understand you. The diversity of editors is the main asset of Wikipedia. It works more often than not (but not 100% of the time, true enough.) Cheers, --Irpen 07:50, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
:::::If this is the diversity of POWs, it could be a big asset. But when there is just erasing opposite opinion even from discussion pages, it does not make mutual efforts really fruitful and neutral.Ans-mo 08:58, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I saw your name on the WikiProject Christianity Membership page.

I've made some changes to the WP Christianity main project page, added several sup-project pages, created a few task forces section, and proposed several more possible changes so that we can really start making some serious progress on the project. Please stop by and see my comments on the project talk page here and consider joining a task force or helping out with improving and contributing to our sub-projects. ==Sources==
Thanks a lot for several articles you started lately. Please do not forget to cite sources in the end. Also, sourcing the images is absolutely mandatory and not doing that will result in their being deleted at bot-like speed. I fixed Apanovich but I was merely lucky to find it. Thanks again. --Irpen 18:36, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
: Thanks for mending Apanovich photo situation. I mistakenly thought, that it could be used on "fair use" condition. By the way, I found it initially not on ZN page, but on the page of the Museum of dissident movement.Ans-mo 06:15, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

: Thanks for your information. Anyway, I think that in some sort of articles reliable "External links" could be considered as enough "Reference". It is just the question of naming it "references" or "external links". Ans-mo 06:07, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Your edit to Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer
Hi,

I noticed that you placed a link to the page Lyons in this article. This page is a disambiguation page, containing the names of many people, places companies etc all called "Lyons". To which did you mean to refer. Please change your link to point directly to the appropriate page. For more information, see WP:WPDAB. Thanks Dontdoit 23:51, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
: Hi, that was a passage from public domain catholic encyclopedia, Lyons evidently meant French city. I will try to correct. Best regards. Ans-mo 06:20, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Abundant Life Foundation
Hey, Ans-mo. I wanted to give you a heads-up about Abundant Life Foundation. There's been some concern by myself and others on the ALF dab page that the Abundant Life Foundation organization may not meet Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). You can see some preliminary discussion about it here. Now, I'm not saying it does or it doesn't meet the criteria, but to perfectly upfront, I haven't been able to find too much information about it, and this can have an effect on meeting notability criteria. On the other hand, this NGO could be very notable, if only we could find good secondary sources about it. If the article was to be nominated for deletion, the votes could go either way depending on the arguments presented. So, with that said, can you find other sources for this groups notability besides their websites? I was able to find mention of this NGO on the official Thai government website, but that may not be enough for other people. Then again, that may suffice. Let me know what you find or help contribute to a discussion about its notability on Talk:Abundant Life Foundation and a discussion abou its subsequent inclusion on the dab page over at Talk:ALF. To speak frankly, most of us are ignorant of this organization, but that is no reason why it should not be able to meet the notability guidelines I linked to above. Read them over and let me know what you think. Another suggestion: you may want to contact the WikiProject that maintains this article for help. &mdash;Viriditas | Talk 02:03, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
: Hi, Viriditas. Thanks for your detailed notification about this issue. First of all, the article Abundant Life Foundation belongs to the List of non-governmental organizations in Thailand. Second, it is mentioned in related to Bangkok Post Directory of charities in Thailand. Maybe it is not the biggest and very well known foundation, but I dont see the reason, why it should not be shortly described and mentioned in related lists or directories.Ans-mo 07:16, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Deaf-mute
The information you added is not appropriate for the Deaf-mute article. That article is about the historical (and now outdated and offensive) term "deaf-mute"; it is not about deafness in general or deaf education. The information you added is more appropriate for the articles on Deafness, Deaf culture, or possibly a new article on deaf education. Note that some of the information may already be contained in one of those articles. Redundant information should not be added. If it is already in one article, you can wikilink it in another article.

Note also that your source article ("Education of the Deaf and Dumb") probably does not reflect currently acceptable standards for education of the deaf. Its use of the term "deaf and dumb" reflects an even more outdated and offensive way of thinking than the term "deaf-mute". My advice is to find a more suitable, non-religious source, or to simply not add the information. Thank you. Ward3001 15:12, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Dioceses of Vietnam and :Category: Roman Catholic Church in Vietnam
I don't think the dioceses belong into that category, as they are already member of the :Category: Roman Catholic dioceses in Vietnam, which is a subdirectory of the :Category: Roman Catholic Church in Vietnam. As far as I understand categories, in case there is a subcategory which fits then the article should not be added into the parent categories anymore. Same as e.g. :Category:Florida is almost empty, and only contains lots of subcategories. andy 16:07, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Protestants in Ukraine
Hi, I've nominated an article you worked on, Protestants in Ukraine, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Wikipedia:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article at Template talk:Did you know#Articles created on July 9 where you can improve it if you see fit.--Riurik(discuss) 01:48, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
: Thanks, but I think this article should be reworked, if pretending for such high nomination. The major part of the article is just copypasting from Ukrainian Religious Portal RISU (references indicated in the article). RISU allows to use its materials in part and as a whole but with reference on source. Sorry, if it brought some inconveniences. Maybe it is necessary to make special template: This article incorporates material from RISU portal (or something of that kind).Ans-mo 06:18, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of :Amicus Meus
A tag has been placed on :Amicus Meus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding <code>hangon</code> to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. &copy; regua <small>[ talk | contribs ]</small> 11:57, 2 December 2007 (UTC)<!-- Template:Db-nocontext-notice --> <!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom -->

: The speedy-deletion was contested but the article still does need substantial improvement. Please join the conversation on the article's Talk page. Thanks. Rossami <small>(talk)</small> 01:58, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

I've read both your notes on the article's Talk page and I have to admit I'm a bit confused. Songs which are still known after several hundred years are generally presumed to have at least some claim to notability. WP:MUSIC has more on the specific inclusion guidelines but they are skewed toward the filtering of more modern/pop-culture works. They apply poorly to classical works. If you're sure that the article should go, tag it with db-author. But you might want to get some other opinions first. You could try asking at Wikipedia:WikiProject Music. Rossami <small>(talk)</small> 01:06, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
: Thanks for your comment. As for notability, you may be right. Maybe that song could be preserved and expanded, if somebody wants. At first, it appeared to me as a pleasant christian Renaissance song. Later I found, that it has somekind a contradictive lyrics and is connected with turbulent period of Counter-Reformation struggle in Europe. So I just dont want to touch sensitive and contradictive issues. If somebody wants to expand it, he may go ahead. But, in my opinion, such article should better be deleted.Ans-mo (talk) 07:04, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

WE Youth Political organization
This article looks like an advertisement/party platform to me, but the editor/guardian refuses to address my concerns. Could you take a look at it? I don't read Russian (or Ukrainian), but I suspect the articles cited don't really talk about this organization at all (or not meaningfully). --<font color="darkorange">Orange Mike</font> | <font color="orange">Talk</font> 15:10, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
:Yes, I agree with opinion, that the article looks like advertisement and party platform. Though such organization really exists and provided links in Russian/Ukrainian confirm it, its present form is inacceptable from the point of neutrality and the article should be deleted or rewrited. There are strong politically motivated pro-Russian propaganda groups here in wiki, and the editing of such articles often cause disagreements.Ans-mo (talk) 07:13, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Christianity in China
Hello,

Just wanted to let you know that I deleted a large section of text that you copied from the Catholic Encyclopedia article. It's not that the information isn't helpful, but due to the ongoing effort and discussion at Talk:Christianity in China to make this a neutral article that doesn't assert the rightness or wrongness of the religion, I made the cutback. Too, when copying from old public domain sources, grammar and archaisms can be introduced that affect the flow of the article. Thanks for contributing, just wanted to explain things somewhat.Brian0324 (talk) 15:18, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

:Addition. I watched the history of the article and I think, that it was not wholy right to revert your contributions. But I think, that you should also take into account the rules of Wikipedia, which dont support any interested side view. ==Links==

Hello. On the Protestants in Ukraine article, I just wonder if you checked those three links conform to WP:EL - that they indeed contain "meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article for reasons unrelated to their reliability". After all, #1 is just a single church, #2 is someone's diary and #3 is about a music mission not mentioned elsewhere in the text.<br>And another point - as the Mormons are soon to open their first temple in Eastern Europe in Kiev soon, do you think something on Mormons in Ukraine would be good to have? I know Mormons aren't usually considered Protestants, so maybe a separate article would be needed, or at least a paragraph in Religion in Ukraine. Biruitorul (talk) 22:37, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

:Hi, thanks for your information. Maybe the first two of the mentioned three links could be used just as examples of Protestant activities in Ukraine, in spite of their not full conformity and relevance. As for the third link, I think it should be present for illustrating activities of well-known Protestant denomination (Presbyterian). Those links are in English, so English speaking community could have more idea about the topic.
::As for mormons, I dont think, that they should be present in the article on Protestants. They are generally not considered as Protestants and present separate type of ideology.Ans-mo (talk) 06:01, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
:::Well, yes, I agree we should keep the Mormons in a separate place, but like I said, a paragraph at least in Religion in Ukraine would not be amiss. ; From the Members
Welcome to the Sixth issue of the WikiProject Christianity newsletter! Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.

Luckily, you all won't have to see my comments very often, as very little I have to say is really that important. But I would like to take the opportunity to say that I hope everyone finds the new General Forum page useful for discussing ideas relevant to Christianity in general, and feels free to make any additional comments regarding general Christianity there. Also, if any of you feel that you want to place a comment here in the future, please let us know what you want included. We would encourage all members to get more involved and if you are wondering what with, please ask. Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.
