==[[Benedict Cumberbatch]] lead==
Hello! I have just an immediate concern about Cumberbatch's page. Its leading paragraphs were changed and it indicated that "his parents ''were'' actors". I am just alarmed by this sentence as his parents are not dead nor are they retired from acting. There are a lot of sources to support this. I also think that the first paragraph is poorly written and the previous version is better as it's lists everything from theatre to radio that made him notable and worthy of a Wikipedia page. I do think that's the purpose of the lead paragraph so that's why I am sending you this request. Thank you very much and I hope you can make changes immediately to lessen misinformation. Thank you again!

Ligue 1 results

Hi ! I've seen that you are one of the most prolific contributors in the Ligue 1 results pages. I don't know from which country do you come from, anyway, french or not, you are courageous to write out all these results (and especially the Ligue 1 ones).

I think you know that on the english Wikipedia, the french Wikipedia, and surely a lot of other ones, some people doesn't want of these fixtures because it is only raw text and it learns to you nothing "concrete". Strangely enough, they don't want yet to delete articles about seasons details, that can be more interesting for the supporter.

I've made a copy on my user pages in the french WP of the Ligue 1 fixtures you use, a "results collection". And I'll re-use them to make "AJ Auxerre 2006-07 season", "Olympique Lyonnais 2006-07 season" articles, on the french WP.

Thanks you a lot, but I wonder if you will continue to make these monthly results that are really threatened. I'm divided between the envy to write about everything of a given subject, even if it talks about matches between the weakest teams of the littlest cities ; and the envy to learn each time I read a WP article, but in that case it's more than a hundred articles that have to be deleted.

Hope I didn't make too many mistakes. Thanks. Kwak —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.240.207.81 (talk) 21:31, 3 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:SoulOnIce AlbumCover.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:SoulOnIce AlbumCover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:44, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Toutvabiendvd.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Toutvabiendvd.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:58, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Lady from Shanghai (Wong Kar Wai film), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Lady from Shanghai (Wong Kar Wai film) is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Lady from Shanghai (Wong Kar Wai film), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. I just noticed that you deleted a great many of the nominees, inserted some wikitables, and then rearranged the order in which they are listed. Is there a reason for this? The only reason I ask is that looking at the other pages for the Oscars, this really is not the way they are set up. I will not revert this for the moment, but when I began editing some of these lists, I sought approval from the Wikifilm folks, and their review was positive for the format.

Can you offer any insight? LonelyBeacon (talk) 04:31, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Ligue 1 Matches 2006-07 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{tranclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Hi. When you recently edited Swimming at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's 200 metre breaststroke, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Long Beach (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Third Person (film) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s and 1 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Thanks for adding the chart formatting to the main album's section of the Cat Power discography page. I'd been meaning to make a similar edit since Sun started charting, but never got around to doing it. Homeostasis07 (talk) 23:39, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Foreign Language Film submissions

Regarding this edit, I don't understand why you call it a "January shortlist", since it was announced in December. Mathew5000 (talk) 22:30, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I was looking at the wiki for the previous year which also announced the list in December, yet it's still shows as the January shortlist. I assumed it's because the Academy members are screened the films in January. Feel free to change it though, I don't see any of the news reports calling it the "January shortlist".
