Bugs, Repairs, and Internal Operational News

This is a summary of recent technology and site configuration changes that affect the English Wikipedia. Some bug fixes or new features described below have not yet gone live as of press time; the English Wikipedia is currently running version 1.44.0-wmf.2 (8fd6c9c), and changes to the software with a version number higher than that will not yet be active. Configuration changes and changes to interface messages, however, become active immediately.

Bots approved

Four new bot tasks were approved this past week:

  • Andrea105Bot (task 3) – To work on tagging article talk pages with WikiProject banners, using AutoWikiBrowser (AWB).
  • Alph Bot - To add interwiki links, using pywikipedia.
  • Andrea105Bot - To add AfricaProject banners to talk pages of certain Angola-related articles, using AWB.
  • Ripchip Bot - To add interwiki links.

Bug fixes

  • PDF, djvu, and other files that can have multiple pages now will show the page selector only if there are multiple pages, and not if there is just one page. (r59727, bug 21523)
