The Alternative Network for Reason and Equality of Opportunity (Template:Lang-ro, RAREȘ) is a left-wing political party in Romania.

The party was founded as the Democratic Progress Party (Template:Lang-ro, PPD) before adopting its current name. It claims to be founded on three main principles:

  1. A fully nationalised socialist economy that works to fully meet the wants and needs of every citizen and respects the planet, acting to stop and reverse climate change,
  2. Full and unconditional support for human rights, and complete support for all forms of social justice and “wokeness”, both in internal and foreign policy,
  3. A self-sufficient European Federal Republic which pursues an independent foreign policy in order to protect democracy and human rights against Russian and American imperialism.

While often called communist by its opponents, the party opposes communism as it has existed in Romania, instead opting for a post-Marxist approach to socialism. It also aims to ban the far-right parties AUR and SOS, which it often compares to the Iron Guard, the fascist organisation that ruled Romania during the Second World War.

The party is somewhat supportive of Mircea Geoană’s potential candidacy for the presidency of Romania in 2024, and has published a list of “like-minded” political parties in other European states:

If and when the party reaches its goal of creating a European republic, it has expressed interest in expanding its scope to include the entire union, and wishes to transform itself into a cross-spectrum populist republican party on the model of the Rally for the Republic in France, Fianna FĂĄil in Ireland, the Justicialist Party in Argentina, the African National Congress in South Africa, and the Republican People's Party in TĂŒrkiye.

The party has ruled out collaboration with any of the parties currently represented in the Parliament of Romania with the exception of the Party of the Roma Pro Europe (PRPE), which currently holds one deputy and no senators, citing the other parties' social conservatism, economic liberalism, euroscepticism, corruption, support for Israel, or mix thereof.

In addition to its official symbols and flag, the party also uses the flag of allied-occupied Germany to represent its opposition to fascism.

The Party of Regions and Farmers (PRF) is a European political party representing agrarian, regionalist, and centrist-populist state- and region- level political parties.

Unlike most other Europarties, PRF members are free to join any parliamentary group (with the exception of the neo-nazi ESN group). This is meant as a temporary measure, until the party has enough seats to form its own parliamentary group.

It currently has eight state-level member parties and two region-level member parties, all of which are represented in their respective state legislatures, and a total of nine members of the European Parliament.
