Rollback

Hi, I am requesting rollback right to fight vandalism more efficiently. I am a counter-vandalism academy graduate, so I am confident that I can distinguish between good faith edits and vandalism. I was given rollback right for a trial by Swarm a month ago. Now it's expired. Seems like he is offline, so I humbly request here. Masum Reza📞 03:48, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done First of all, you barely touched Rollback during the trial period, which makes me think that you're interested in collecting permissions and don't actually have a need. Secondly, serious competence issues have continued, most recently a mass-revert which was in the wrong and could have been avoided if you just spent a literal couple seconds looking at it and seeing that the editor was just self-reverting a mistake they made. You then argued, rather than admitting that it was a monumental screw up, defending your blind mass-revert simply because there was no edit summary, which is not needed in obvious cases such as this. If you couldn't spare a couple seconds to look at an edit without an edit summary to actually determine whether it's in the wrong, disruptive, vandalism, or uncontentious, then you certainly shouldn't be using a tool that makes reverting even faster. You're clearly going way too fast, and you need to dramatically slow down. You certainly don't need to be speeding up your editing. Please do not request additional tools for the foreseeable future, you need time to develop your competence and experience. ~Swarm~ {sting} 03:02, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've been using Twinkle for a while, would love to use Huggle instead. I've dealt with many cases of vandalism, they make up most of my edits and I've also reported many users for vandalism after giving them a level 4 warning. I know how to detect vandalism quite well, I think I've only made one mistake (I'm human!) so I believe that I am more than capable of using the rollback tool responsibly. I have vandalism-reverting experience using Twinkle and wish to user Huggle for reverting vandalism. WikiAviator (talk) 07:54, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done You're reporting vandals to WP:ANEW, which is the wrong forum (you apparently don't even know about AIV, which suggests that you have not read the basic instructions for countervandalism), but which also suggests that you don't fully understand the concepts of vandalism and edit warring themselves. There you have requested an indef block for an IP, which we also do not do. Also, you're ignoring talk page messages, which is unacceptable. Communication is required. It kind of looks like you're trying to go a good job, but don't actually have any knowledge on what you're supposed to do and are just taking shots in the dark. ~Swarm~ {sting} 03:20, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I've been reverted edits and fighting vandalism while using twinkle. It's my second time I've been request this permission since February 2019 (here's my previous request), but it denied, so I decided to do another request today. I would like to improve Wikipedia for the near better future so that for those who view Wikipedia everyday will know about it and now I can deal with these persistent vandalism and disruptive editing in Wikipedia. I hope to accept my request and become a rollbacker in Wikipedia. Thanks!!! Movies Time (talk) 13:15, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You appear to be reverting edits with no explanation, even when it's not obvious vandalism. Also, you're not issuing warnings, which is a fundamental aspect of counter-vandalism. Both of these aspects suggest that you are not yet sufficiently knowledgable and experienced for Rollback. Please see WP:RCP and WP:CVU for additional guidance. ~Swarm~ {sting} 03:28, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Can a roll backer review the edits done by the IP address 223.186.104.159 at Timeline_of_the_Syro-Malabar_Catholic_Church? This may be vandalism. A user reverted one edit but there may be more vandalism. Thoughts? Manabimasu (talk) 01:40, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Manabimasu: It was copyright violation. Sphilbrick took care of it, though. –MJLTalk 07:13, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
 Not done (not a request for rollback) ~Swarm~ {sting} 02:37, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Most of my Wikipedia activity doesn't directly deal with vandalism, so I've waited longer to request this right than I did some others, but I do come across it enough in the course of my editing (for instance, here's a vandalism revert I did yesterday) that I think the ability to rollback might be useful in some circumstances (especially since I've recently started patrolling some more vandalism-prone areas). I'm not sure I'll use it much, since I'm currently content with Twinkle, but I'd like to try Huggle. Sdkb (talk) 21:07, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've been keeping an eye on recent changes for awhile using Twinkle. I just downloaded Huggle and saw how much more efficient it makes the process. I'd like the rollback permission so I can use the Huggle tool for reviewing recent changes. I'm familiar with policies on BLP and copy violations, and WP:VANDAL. Last November, when I first began editing regularly, I reported an IP for edit warring to add "Small Business Saturday occurs on the Sabbath", and was blocked myself for 2 hours as a result; that taught me that sometimes incorrect information should be viewed as a content dispute. With Twinkle, I only use the "rollback (vandal)" option for clear and obvious vandalism. Schazjmd (talk) 01:02, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please remove rollback. I don't need it as I'm not contributing (just reading occasionally on my phone) and it's too easy to click the link by accident when using my watchlist with my fat fingers. WJBscribe (talk) 10:13, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Already done (automated response): This user already has the "rollbacker" user right. MusikBot talk 10:20, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm currently in a CVUA (Link [2]) and have also obtained a good track record with Twinkle, so i'm requesting rollback. (Mainly for using Huggle)

I endorse James-the-Charizard's application. They have successfully completed most of the course now, demonstrated a good understanding of the relevant policies, and that they can discern between vandalism and good-faith but potentially problematic edits and can deal with both appropriately. I am confident that they will use rollback with discretion. GirthSummit (blether) 19:29, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
