There is no harm to have both articles: This article is discussing modern weights and measures of India while the article History of measurement systems in India attempts to give a historical survey of weights and measures used in India. Clemensmarabu (talk) 13:48, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps time measurements could be added?
