I am decades away from the target audience for the just-released Krypto the Superdog: the Complete Series. Ever since the Canine of Steel arrived in 1955, he has been a popular supporting player, and with all-things super-heroic now part of the pop culture zeitgeist, it made perfect sense to give him a series for the younger side of the television demographic.
All 39 episodes of the 2005 series are presented here, adapted by producer Chris Mitchell. Joining Krypto (voiced by Sam Vincent) on his crimefighting adventures are Streaky (Brian Drummond), Supergirl’s pet cat, and Ace the Bathound (Scott McNeil). They even created Stretch-o-Mutt (Lee Tockar) to round things out. And if there are going to be animal heroes, there have to be animal villains, who happen to include the pets of Lex Luthor (Brian Dobson) and Catwoman. When things look dire, they can count on help from the Dog Star Patrol.

Real-world journalism comes with some occupational hazards, but usually death isn’t one of them. In the horror genre, on the other hand, members of the press find themselves in danger every time they get a hot lead on something weird and unexplained. Their tenacity never does them any good; one minute they’ve found the story of their career, the next they’re never heard from again.
Journalists often get in over their heads in horror. Something goes wrong in their investigation, and they end up becoming the story. As these five TV-anthology tales illustrate, digging for the truth can also mean digging your own grave.
Out of the Unknown (1965-1971)

In 2013 Hasbro Studios did a pretty risky thing with one of their biggest franchises. They decided to take My Little Ponies and humanize them in a movie called My Little Pony: Equestria Girls. In that film one of the characters, Twilight Sparkles, discovers a mirror which allows her to travel into an alternate universe in order to recover a crown that was stolen from the Crystal Empire. Upon her arrival she is horrified to learn that she has turned into a human. This was a risky move for Hasbro because being magical ponies was their schtick.
Though there isn’t any four-legged characters walking around, I’m assuming it was a hit with the My Little Pony community because Hasbro decided to bring the Esquestria Girls back a few more times since. Now the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls have an all-new show which just premiered on Youtube. I had...

After years of anticipation, speeches about friendship, and long-promised Sia cameos, the first trailer for My Little Pony: The Movie has finally arrived. What do fans (young, and otherwise) get for their patience? If the trailer’s any indication, some flashier animation, the same lessons about friendship and self-reliance, and a more famous-than-usual set of voice actors on hand to deliver them.
The trailer plays up the role of Emily Blunt’s new villain Tempest, but we also get appearances from Liev Schreiber as her henchman, Kristin Chenoweth as a mer-pony, Zoe Saldana as a bird pirate, and Taye Diggs as some kind of shirtless cat man, for reasons that we have to assume can’t be as openly prurient as they seem. Luckily, the Mane 6—played, as always, by actors Ashleigh Ball, Tabitha St. Germain, Andrea Libman, and Tara Strong—are still on hand to save the day ...
