Lim Yu-Beng
Yu-Beng is a familiar face on the Singapore stage and screen, winning Best Actor in 2005, Best Supporting Actor in 2004, and being in the Best Acting Ensemble in 2002, all for the Life! Theatre Awards, Singapore. He was also nominated Best Actor in 2005 for the Asian Television Awards, and nominated Best supporting Actor in 2023 for Pesta Perdana, the Mlalay language television awards.
He has played leads in the acclaimed Singaporean films Singapore Dreaming, and Solos, and internationally in Kung Fu Killers, and The Great Wall (2008); and supporting roles in numerous international films, including Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon, Anna and the King, and HBO Asia's Grace. For Singapore television he has played leads in Identiti, Sephia, Firasat, Do Not Disturb, 9 Lives, The Second Singapore Short Story Project, The New Home, three seasons of Lion Mums, and all four seasons of the hit series Triple 9.
Theatregoers know him from shows like Lost Cinema, Another Country, Animal Farm, Members Only, Doubt, The Lover and The Dumb Waiter, Bent, Lear, The Blue Room, The Yang Family and As If He Hears.
Yu-Beng has also written and directed It's My Life an original teen musical, as well as 2 Houses, and Pearl of the Eastern & Oriental, both sell-out successes specially commissioned by the Georgetown Festival in Penang. In 2024, he released hi album of original songs, Notes To Self, available on all music streaming platforms.
Yu-Beng's latest television projects include Netflix's Rebel Moon Part 1 Director's Cut (2024) Mr Midnight (2022), Identiti (2021), Sephia (2021), Lion Mums S4 (2020), After Love (2019), Raksaksa (2019), and Warrior S1(2018).
He continues to explore new ground, and works extensively as an actor, director, writer, acting coach, lighting designer, fight choreographer and whatever it takes to get the show up.
