Florian Stetter

Florian Stetter was born in Munich on August 2, 1977 and lived in Regensburg until the age of 18. In 1998, he began training as an actor at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. Stetter then worked on various German, Austrian and Swiss stages (including the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Zürich and the Salzburg Festival). Stetter made his film debut in 1997 as David in Philip Gröning's "Lamour" (Locarno 2000), for which he was immediately awarded the Max Ophüls Prize. Since then, he has taken on roles in numerous film and television productions. Among others, he appeared in Dominik Graf's Grimme Prize-winning television film "Die Freunde der Freunde" and in Marc Rothemund's Oscar-nominated "Sophie Scholl - Die letzten Tage". He was also on screen as Reinhold Messner in "Nanga Parbat" directed by award winning director Joseph Vilsmaier and as Friedrich Schiller in the internationally acclaimed, multi award winning production "Beloved Sisters" directed by outstanding director Dominik Graf. Stetter was nominated for an International Emmy in 2016 for his performance in "Naked Among Wolves".
In 2022 he starred next to Petra Schmidt-Schaller in the highly acclaimed mini-series "Ein Schritt zum Abgrund", the german remake of the BBC award winning show "Doctor Foster".
In 2023 Stetter starred next to Laura Tonke in the miniseries "Sexuell Verfügbar" directed by Ulrike Koffler, and in the international feature film "Maysoon" directed by Nancy Biniadaki in one of the leading roles.
He lives with his two children in Berlin.
