Exclusive: UK indie feature Worry Time, written by and starring Emma Paetz (Pennyworth) and produced by and co-starring Ben Aldridge (Fleabag) has wrapped shoot in London.

The micro-budget absurdist feminist thriller is a co-production between Penny4 and Paetz’s company Thaddeus. Producers are Cambria Bailey-Jones, Heloise Lowenthal, Emma Paetz and Aldridge who is making his producing debut.

The film marks the filmmaking debut of British theatre director Tom Brennan (The Last of the Pelican Daughters). The team is submitting the movie for 2025 festivals.

Leonardo’s intended, the anxious Pampinea, arrived desperate to wed before her youth faded. Snobbish Filomena dragged along her faithful servant Licisca, who secretly dreamed of more. As Netflix’s The Decameron begins, nearly all of our characters are retreating. They might not put it in quite those terms, but it’s exactly what these characters are doing: flocking to the “beautiful, not-infected countryside,” as one character puts it, in hopes of waiting out the Black Plague currently tearing through the continent.

But it doesn’t matter how hard they try to get into “the holiday state of mind,” or how desperately some of them might hope to reorient their fortunes while away. It almost doesn’t even matter how insistently real life intrudes on their getaway. In AMC’s six-part revenge thriller “The Beast Must Die,” Cush Jumbo plays a mother who will stop at nothing to find her son’s killer. It’s her toughest role to date, but she welcomed the challenge.

“I was looking for something that would stretch me, and Gaby Chiappe’s script came across my desk and it was truly the best script that had passed over my lap, maybe ever,” she said. “I just couldn’t put it down, and I thought, ‘I have to do this’, so from the very beginning I was quite excited by it. So, yes, I was working hard, but I was enjoying it because I enjoy working hard.”

Apple TV Plus released a trailer for the second season of comedy “Trying,” which will launch on May 21.

The second season will continue to follow Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) navigating the adoption process. After being approved by an adoption panel, they now find that matching with a child is not as straightforward as they had hoped. Helped by their eccentric social worker Penny (Imelda Staunton), they are determined to do everything they can. When Nikki meets a little girl called Princess at an adoption event, she knows instantly that this is the child for them. However, there are obstacles to Nikki’s plan that may prove insurmountable. Ophelia Lovibond, Oliver Chris, Sian Brooke, Darren Boyd and Robyn Cara will also return this season.
