I am not sure why, but this Billy Bevan two-reeler seems to be two split reel comedies and a one-reeler. The only things they seem to have in common is Mr. Bevan and being very funny. In the first split reel, he stops his car to flirt with a couple of pretty girls. In the second, he is an inept barber; in the third, he is a duck hunter among ducks who have the same respect for him they did for the hunters in Tex Avery's LUCKY DUCKY.
The movie is filled with comedy set-pieces (man is stuck to asphalt; barber's chair goes for a spin on the highway; world's largest decoy duck; et c.) and conflicts with other people.
Despite its randomness and air of struggle to bring it up to a full two reels, it's very funny. I suspect it's because they threw out a lot of stuff that wasn't before they set out to fill out the second reel.
