Bionicle: Tahu Nuva vs Kohrak Test Animation

This obscure short animation was something of a mystery for almost two decades until Blur Studio cleared up its origin in early 2021. It is an unofficial clip that was created purely for fun, without The LEGO Company's involvement, as a test animation and possible pitch for the direct-to-video film Bionicle: Mask of Light (2003). LEGO also received animation pitches from two other production houses: Creative Capers Entertainment and Elliott Animation. Both of these companies created test animations featuring the character Lewa. Ultimately, LEGO chose Creative Capers to produce the Bionicle films because of their swift production and because their animation (Lewa luring a giant version of himself into a trap) promoted a clever, non-violent solution to a conflict, following LEGO's anti-violence policies. It is however unknown whether this could have been the reason why Blur Studio's somewhat more violent pitch was rejected, as neither Blur, nor LEGO have elaborated on this matter.
