The 80s were a time when country music and a type of hero born of the good ol boy class that came into his own. This could be seen in shows like The Dukes of Hazzard, Bj and The Bear, as well as movies like Any Which Way But Loose and Smokey and the Bandit. They were a time of what would be considered fun action films and TV. Again, this was personified in shows where usually no one got seriously hurt, like The A-Team. The bad guys went to the same shooting school as your friendly neighborhood Stormtroopers. But, one TV show that would personify this “nobody better get hurt” adventure series was The Fall Guy.

Universal Pictures is relocating the unknown stuntman. The studio announced Tuesday that its upcoming adaptation of the 1980s TV series “The Fall Guy” is moving to May 3, 2024.
The news comes less than a week after the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, which kickstarted Hollywood production after the months-long halt to most industry business.
Starring Ryan Gosling in the role originated by Lee Majors, the film follows Colt Seavers, a stunt performer who moonlights as a private investigator. While working on a film directed by his ex, Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt), he’s recruited by the film’s producer (Hannah Waddingham) to find the film’s missing star (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) while keeping his disappearance a secret from the studio and the public.

If you’ve been missing Sydney Bristow, better book a ticket to Austin, TX. The Atx Television Festival announced today it will be hosting an “Alias” writers’ room reunion featuring many of the show’s long-time scribes, including Ken Olin, Lawrence Trilling, Sarah Caplan, Monica Breen, Jeff Pinkner, Andre Nemec, and Josh Appelbaum.
Creator J.J. Abrams has yet to be confirmed, but additional panelists will be announced at a later date. Last year, the Atx Festival hosted a writers’ room reunion for “The O.C.” that included creator Josh Schwartz.
Also announced this afternoon was a “Parks and Recreation” community screening. For the first five seasons of the festival, the Austin-based event celebrated an Austin-based show: “Friday Night Lights.” But last year marked the final tailgate party / community screening for the beloved series, and festival programmers found a more than fitting replacement in “Parks and Recreation.”

There aren’t a lot of horror and sci-fi titles hitting DVD and Blu-ray shelves on September 15th, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some fun releases to look forward to on Tuesday. Scream Factory is resurrecting another cult classic in HD—The Legacy, starring the always badass Sam Elliot—and for those of you David Duchovny fans out there, season one of Aquarius is being released by Anchor Bay this week, too.
There are also a handful of "B Movies" coming our way in various forms courtesy of Mill Creek Entertainment, and for those of you who didn’t pick up the Halloween box set last year, September 15th is your chance to finally own the Producer’s Cut of Halloween VI: The Curse of Michael Myers, as Lionsgate is giving it a standalone Blu-ray release.

“The Unseen” (1981)
Directed By: Danny Steinmann
Written By: Danny Steinmann & Michael L. Grace
Starring: Sydney Lassick (Ernest Keller), Barbara Bach (Jennifer Fast), Stephen Furst (Junior Keller “The Unseen”), Karen Lamm (Karen Fast) Lelia Goldoni (Virginia Keller), Douglas Barr (Tony Ross), Lois Young (Vicki Thompson), Maida Severn (Solvang Lady)
“The Unseen” gave me “Psycho” vibes because of the moodiness of the film. It also has backwoods overtones with this messed up family as well. I came across this movie randomly and liked it much better than I thought. This is seemingly an unknown early 80s horror film that deserves some lime light as it is quite sad and disturbing to watch at times.
The story involves three female reporters who are offered cheap room and board by shady museum owner Ernest Keller (Sydney Lassick) since all the local motels are full. This house isn’t...

McG is in talks to direct Dwayne Johnson in an upcoming new film project called The Fall Guy, which is an adaptation of a 1980s TV series. Apparently people in Hollywood have been trying to get an adaptation of this made for years. At one point Casino Royal's Martin Campbell was going to direct Nicolas Cage. I'm not sure if the new team is much better.
I've never seen the series, but it aired on ABC from 1981 to 1986 and starred Lee Majors as "a Hollywood stunt man who supplemented his income by doing bounty hunter work. He was joined on his escapades, which usually involved him transferring a stunt from a movie to the job at hand, by his sidekick cousin (Douglas Barr) and a fetching female stunt actress played by Heather Thomas."

Dwayne Johnson is in negotiations to star and McG is in talks to direct a film adaptation of the 1980s TV series "The Fall Guy" at Hyde Park Entertainment and WWE Studios.
The early 1980s series starred Lee Majors as a Hollywood stunt man who supplemented his income doing bounty hunter work.
Often joining him were his sidekick cousin (Douglas Barr) and a female stunt actress (Heather Thomas).
Zack Stentz and Ashley Edward Miller ("Thor," "X-Men: First Class") penned the script, while Ashok Amritraj, Michael Luisi, Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald will produce.
"Casino Royale" director Martin Campbell and actor Nicolas Cage were attached to a previous version of the project which didn't come together.

From Haxan to last year’s The Devil Inside, religious horror films have been a staple in the genre. Often, films dealing with religion wade in the waters of the threat of a supernatural evil to explain events that could otherwise be attributed to a human force.
Deadly Blessing, a film made after The Hills Have Eyes, and before his groundbreaking A Nightmare on Elm Street, puts Wes Craven in the realm of the potentially supernatural with a serial murderer in a small town dominated by a religious community.
A young couple, Jim and Martha Schmidt (Douglas Barr, Maren Jensen), seem to have the ideal life, until one night when Jim is murdered out in the barn. Seeking refuge, Martha invites two friends, Lana and Vicky (Sharon Stone, Susan Buckner) to visit from the city. No sooner have they arrived, when the Elder of the “Hittite” community (Ernest Borgnine) warns...

Yesterday we reported on the news that Bill Paxton would potentially adapt the '70s TV series Kung Fu for the big screen, and now today we have another similar story to address. It seems that the '80s TV show The Fall Guy is also about to get a feature film reboot, and director Martin Campbell (Green Lantern) is in "early discussions" to direct. The show ran from 1981 to 1986 and starred The Six Million Dollar Man himself Lee Majors as a Hollywood stunt man named Colt Seavers (great name) who works as a bounty hunter in his off-hours. It was created by Glen A. Larson, the same man who brought us such classic shows as Knight Rider, Magnum P.I. and Battlestar Galactica. The Fall Guy was just slightly before my time as I seem to remember the toys more than the actual show itself. Much like The A-Team, there...

Martin Campbell‘s hit a bit of a rough patch these last couple of years. While that’s a shame, it’s hard to completely sympathize with the guy who put out Edge of Darkness and Green Lantern back-to-back. Still, the man who made two of the better Bond films (Goldeneye and, in my opinion, the best of them all: Casino Royale) is someone I’ll always have a bit of faith in, no matter how many Zorro movies he decides to take on.
Therefore, you can count me as a little intrigued by Deadline‘s report, which names him as being in early talks to direct The Fall Guy. This is a film adaptation of an ’80s TV series that starred Lee Majors and Douglas Barr; Walter Parkes is producing, and it’s been scripted by Thor & X-Men: First Class first-drafters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. Briefly: A film version of one of the few action-oriented '80s TV shows to escape new exploitation so far, The Fall Guy, is moving forward once more. Martin Campbell (Green Lantern, Casino Royale) is in "early talks" to direct the film. The script is by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, who contributed to X-Men: First Class. The 1981 series was Lee Majors' follow-up to The Six Million-Dollar Man. Douglas Barr and popular '80s pinup Heather Thomas co-starred in stories about a stunt man who works nights as a bounty hunter. (The big idea here in the wake of the 2011 summer season: make a version of Drive that could make money.) There was an economic aspect to the show, as Majors' character needed to do the bounty hunter work to make ends meet. No word on casting yet, but the central role is one that any physically skilled guy could play.

More 1980s television series are coming to the big screen. Deadline has reported there are early discussions for director Martin Campbell to helm the film adaptation of the 1981-1986 television series “The Fall Guy.” The original series starred Lee Majors, Douglas Barr and Heather Thomas. It’s about Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stunt man who moonlights as a bounty hunter to make ends meet. The script adaptation is currently being written by the writing team of Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. They wrote the scripts for “Thor” and “X-Men: First Class,” as well as several television episodes for “Fringe,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” and “Andromeda.” The film will be developed by producer Walter Parkes (“Gladiator,” “Minority Report”). Deadline also reported the project was initially with DreamWorks, but now it is not known which studio will be involved. Campbell’s last project was with this year’s comic book film “Green Lantern.

Martin Campbell may have found his next project. Deadline reports that the Green Lantern director is interested in tackling a feature film adaptation of the 1980's television series, "The Fall Guy," which starred Lee Majors, Douglas Barr and Heather Thomas. In the original series, Majors played Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stuntman who also worked as a bounty hunter. Created by Glen A. Larson, the show ran five seasons beginning in 1981. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz ( X-Men: First Class ) are providing the adaptation's screenplay and Walter Parkes ( Dinner for Schmucks , Sweeney Todd ) is producing.

According to reports, writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz ("Thor", "X-Men: First Class") are developing a new screenplay based on the action/adventure, stunt man TV series "The Fall Guy" for the husband-wife team of DreamWorks' producers Walter F. Parkes ("Gladiator") and Laurie MacDonald ("Men In Black III").
ABC's "The Fall Guy", created by Glen A. Larson ("Battlestar Galactica") originally aired November 4, 1981 to May 2, 1986, starring actors Lee Majors, Douglas Barr and Heather Thomas :

I.m not the kind to kiss and tell, but in this instance I.m going too. According to a report in the La Times, there is apparently a remake of the cult television series .The Fall Guy., which was a big hit for producer Glen A. Larson and actor Lee Majors in the early 1980s, and a personal favourite of mine to boot. .The Fall Guy. was never what you.d call challenging television. It was just a fun action adventure series that appealed to us on many levels. With the women it may have been Lee Majors or his younger protege Douglas Barr who played the clumsy Howie Munson. Then of course there was the tall leggy Blonde Heather...

Two months before the premiere of NBC's two-hour movie/backdoor pilot "Secrets of the Mountain," the network has teamed with Procter & Gamble and Wal-Mart for another project, "The Jensen Project."
Like "Secrets," the tentatively titled "Jensen" will be funded by P&G, produced by Canada-based Muse Entertainment and air on NBC as a time buy.
Kellie Martin, Brady Smith, Patricia Richardson and LeVar Burton have been tapped to star in "Jensen," written by Monica Macer and to be directed by Douglas Barr.
Set in 1988, it revolves around 12 geniuses who move to an isolated spot in the Allegheny Mountains to form the Jensen Project. For 20 years, the group spend their time inventing ways to fix the world's problems and then share their discoveries freely and anonymously with the world. NBC is heading for "The Mountain."
The network is close to greenlighting a two-hour movie/backdoor pilot from Canadian production company Muse Entertainment.
The project, slated to begin shooting Oct. 21 in Montreal and Magog, Quebec, centers on a single mom with three kids who inherits a property from a supposedly dead uncle. During an impromptu visit there, they discover a treasure trove of history.
Michael Prupas and Jeff Grant are executive producing, with Joel Rice and Irene Litensky producing. Doug Barr is on board to direct.
Muse is known for such big-budget action-adventure miniseries as "The Last Templar" and "Impact," which aired this year on NBC and ABC, respectively, and ABC's upcoming "Ben-Hur."
In the past couple of years, the U.S. broadcast nets have been looking north for lower-license-fee acquisitions of drama series, including "Flashpoint" and the upcoming "The Bridge" on CBS, "The Listener" on NBC and "The Copper" on ABC.

While MGM’s recent Pumpkinhead DVD celebrates one of Stan Winston’s greatest triumphs outside of his usual role of FX creator, this new disc reveals a chapter in his filmmaking history that has gone, if not unseen, than largely unacknowledged. One reason for that is the fact that while Winston shares a story billing on the actual movie with fellow makeup master Tom Burman and director Peter Foleg, the writing credits in The Unseen’s ad and press material, and thus almost all of the film’s reviews, and even the billing block on the DVD case cite Foleg and three different co-scribes (among them Texas Chainsaw Massacre veteran Kim Henkel). Add the fact that “Foleg” himself is actually a pseudonym for Danny Steinmann, who would go on to direct the fifth Friday The 13th, and there’s the clear suggestion of a creative history as tortured as any of the onscreen victims,...
