The Grand Tour featuring controversial motoring fanatic Jeremy Clarkson dropped its finale episode on September 13, and Top Gear fans love it. However, many Zimbabweans are thrilled because the iconic TV journalist showcased their country and claimed he’d “saved the best for last.”
Jeremy Clarkson, James May & Richard Hammond On The Grand Tour
Not deterred by those who slammed him for assaulting a BBC producer while filming Top Gear or those who wanted him canceled for dissing Meghan Markle, the famous tongue-in-cheek journalist went on and started Clarkson’s Farm. Aired on Amazon Prime, he won a lot of fans back.
The Grand Tour was another project put together through Amazon Prime, and motoring enthusiasts cheered. Premiering in 2016, the show featured Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond. They brought motoring adventures from many countries and it streamed worldwide. But now, he claimed Zimbabwe was the “best” and they “saved” it “for last.

British TV boss Nicola Shindler has explained why Channel 4’s It’s a Sin took “a long time” to get made — and the reason is creator Russell T. Davies‘ own genius.
Shindler, executive producer and CEO of Quay Street Productions, spoke alongside Top Gear and Clarkson’s Farm producer Andy Wilman at The Royal Television Society’s London Convention on Tuesday.
Shindler is behind work such as the BAFTA-winning Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax. She said It’s a Sin, which followed the HIV/Aids crisis take hold of a friendship group and extended queer community in 1980s London, took “a long time” to get made because Doctor Who writer Davies wanted the script to first focus on the characters.

“The Grand Tour” producer Andy Wilman says the seeds for his success were sown at school — which he attended with Jeremy Clarkson.
“I went to school with him which is like, argh,” Wilman revealed. “But we didn’t plan any of this when we were at school, obviously not. We do have a synergy. Some of it did come from school… we never sat down and planned a hit because I don’t think we were clever enough to do that. ‘Top Gear’ became that big but it was by accident.”
Wilman co-created Jeremy Clarkson motoring show “Top Gear” before jumping ship with Clarkson when he was fired by the BBC, moving to Prime Video where they launched a new motoring show called “The Grand Tour.” Wilman also produces “Clarkson’s Farm” among other series.

Kaleb Cooper shot to fame as Jeremy Clarkson’s farming manager in the hit Prime video series Clarkson’s Farm, and is known for arguing often with his boss and co-star while they are filming. Now he has shared that, in fact, only “40 percent” of the pair’s fallings-out are actually shown on screen.
Cooper told The Sun newspaper:
“Everything you see on the camera is everything you see behind-the-scenes as well. I mean yes we still argue and I reckon they probably only show 40 per cent of the arguments we actually have.
“But the main thing is that if we have an argument, ten minutes later we’re best friends again. We’ll be like, ‘Do you want a cup of tea? Do you want to go to the pub? Do you want to go for a meal?’”

Jeremy Clarkson has denied that Top Gear ever scripted a scathing Tesla review after his successor Chris Harris claimed that the BBC show was “naughty” in its treatment of Elon Musk’s electric car.
In his weekly column in The Sun newspaper, Clarkson said he was wound up “something rotten” by Harris telling The Joe Rogan Experience podcast that the 2008 Tesla review was effectively faked.
“Joe and Chris perpetuate the myth that my Tesla road test was unfair,” Clarkson wrote. “On Top Gear we cocked about and upset a lot of people over the years. But our road tests were always scrupulously fair.”
In the review of the Tesla Roadster, Clarkson said the battery died after 88km on a race track, that the vehicle’s brakes failed, the engine overheated, and that it took 16 hours to charge.

Jeremy Clarkson has let slip the possibility of a fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm, delighting fans who thought the series might end after the fourth.
The show on Amazon Prime has enjoyed huge viewing figures since its debut in 2021, but series producer Andy Wilman previously told Deadline there were no plans for a fifth season. He said: I’ve got no feelings on whether there’s a five or not. Jeremy’s the same. He’s like, when we’ve got nothing left to say, let’s walk away.”
However, this weekend Clarkson posted a picture of Wilman with his dog, captioning the photograph: “The dog’s pleading with Andy Wilman to be in season 5.”

Andy Wilman has been reflecting on the turmoil in the weeks after Jeremy Clarkson punched a Top Gear producer and was fired by the BBC.
The BBC was plunged into crisis in 2015 when the Top Gear “fracas” paved the way for Clarkson and co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May to join Amazon Prime Video to launch The Grand Tour. Wilman, then Top Gear’s executive producer, also moved over.
Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, the executive producer revealed he had to “fight” the BBC to keep the trio of presenters together. The British broadcaster battled to lock down Hammond and May, with former creative director Alan Yentob playing a pivotal role in the talks.

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are planning to shuffle off the Amazon Prime Video stage with more of a whimper than a bang, according to The Grand Tour’s executive producer.
Andy Wilman said the final episode featuring the Top Gear alumni will be an “unplugged,” emotional affair when it premieres on Amazon Prime Video on September 13.
Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Wilman said: “They wanted to go a bit back to 2005 or 2006 … leave the dynamite and just go [to Africa] with shit old cars.”
He added: “Not much happens, I would say. Anyone who thinks they’re going to get Avengers: Endgame is going to be disappointed because it is deliberately gentle. But their camaraderie is next level.”

Public service broadcasting is in a “red alert situation” in “many many markets” around the world, according to the most powerful man in British broadcasting.
BBC Director General Tim Davie urged the audience at the Deloitte and Enders Media & Telecoms 2024 and Beyond Conference to “look around the world and see what’s happening to PSBs.”
“It’s scary,” he added. “It’s really problematic. We are not merely troublesome we are in a red alert situation in many many markets and as politics gets more polarized we have to decide what we do about institutions.”
Davie said the BBC, on the other hand, is “not a market failure provider” and stressed partnerships with major global players such as Warner Bros. Discovery in sports as a factor.
But this doesn’t stop the BBC from making “uneconomic” decisions, he stressed, in order to preserve its place as a public broadcaster.

The fans are having a fit after the results of the UK’s Sexiest Men Alive list were dropped online. What’s more surprising is the fact that the multi-talented actor, Idris Elba has not ranked among the top 5 in the list, which is making fans wonder about how those results came into existence.

Elba has been a familiar face in the entertainment world, who joined the list of People’s Sexist Man Alive back in 2018. Exclusive: Andy Wilman looks like a man who’s not seen sunlight for a while. Peering down the barrel of a Zoom call, he’s got a touch of man flu after a spell in his editing bunker. Wilman is perpetually “in an edit.” He’s currently honing the final episode of The Grand Tour, but he could just as well be looking at rushes from Clarkson’s Farm Season 4. It is his happy place.

Amazon Prime has now dropped both parts of Clarkson’s Farm Season 3. Viewers watched Jeremy Clarkson promote Kaleb Cooper to farm manager of Diddly Squat. Or, would Jeremy, who was farming the “unfarmed” land win? To his credit, he added pigs, goats, blackberries, and mushrooms. Then, there was the delicious, but costly nettle soup. It's hard to imagine a show like Clarkson's Farm becoming one of the top-rated shows on Prime Video. In February of 2023, it broke viewing records in the UK, and the 2024 season has already snatched the top spot from Baby Reindeer, with only four episodes released.
What makes Clarkson's Farm so compelling, however, is the imbecilic, blundering buffoon that headlines the series, Jeremy Clarkson, along with his deadpan sidekick, Kaleb Cooper.
The thing is, Clarkson isn't a fool. He's simply in over his head, diving headlong into an immensely complicated livelihood, far more than anything he has ever encountered. Clarkson's journey from Top Gear to the difficulties of full-time farming is relatable.
Apart from establishing an intimate link between the audience and the show, it makes for some hilarious moments throughout the series. Authenticity is the name of the game here, and it's the beating heart behind the colorful characters that inhabit Chipping Norton,...

It’s official, Season 3 of Clarkson’s Farm has broken Amazon Prime Video’s UK ratings record.
The Season 3 premiere of Jeremy Clarkson‘s farming show was streamed by 5.1M viewers over the past seven days, according to Barb, the UK’s official audience research group.
This puts the episode nearly a million viewers ahead of the Season 2 debut, which was watched by 4.3M last year and was Amazon’s previous ratings record holder.
Episode 1 of Clarkson‘s Farm Season 3 is the second most-watched show of 2024 on all major streaming services in the UK, beaten only by Netflix’s Fool Me Once, which had 6.3M viewers.
The performance underlines why Amazon Prime Video committed to Season 4 of the reality show, despite the company being furious with a newspaper column Clarkson wrote about Meghan Markle.

Season 3 of Clarkson’s Farm premiered recently, and Amazon Prime fans were concerned about Gerald Cooper, but Jeremy Clarkson gave an update. If you don’t know, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The former Top Gear star brings a lot of humor with his show, but there’s nothing remotely funny about the disease that struck Gerald, the security manager.
Jeremy Clarkson Makes People Laugh & Fans Love Gerald
Gerald Cooper has a broad West Country accent and on occasion, when he gets excited, his boss can’t understand a word he says. However, he mostly just gets himself laughing so hard, he almost cries. Gerald became a favorite because he’s astute, sharp, and has the understated British humor down to an art form. Kaleb Cooper, the recently promoted farmhand, and his reality TV boss want Gerald well and back at work.

As the calendar flips from April to May, audiences may feel the affects of last year’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes bite deeply. May is the traditionally the first month for summer blockbusters to start making their way into theaters, and while titles like “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” and “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” will bow in cinemas this month, the release schedule is certainly lacking compared to years past.
The good news is, there are plenty of new streaming titles coming to various platforms this month to help you stay entertained! The Streamable has compiled our list of new titles coming to streaming this week, and we’ll be here each week in May to help you find something awesome to watch every day.

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed the secret to his curmudgeonly, grumbling character that helped propel his shows Top Gear and The Grand Tour to worldwide success – it was all an act.
Clarkson, whose hit series Clarkson’s Farm returns to Amazon Prime’s global platform on May 3, told The Guardian newspaper he had deliberately made “a comic creation.”
He said: “Everyone assumes the character they see on motoring shows is me, but it’s exaggerated. To think that I was like I was on Top Gear is the same as thinking that Anthony Hopkins is a cannibal.”
And he said that, as a working farmer whose challenges and triumphs are all captured on camera for his hit show, he feels no pressure to be controversial any more:
“I don’t have to think, ‘Right, I’m going to say something stupidly provocative now.’ That’s relaxing. Also, you don’t wake up...

Back in 1990, Kevin Costner directed, produced, and starred in an epic war film which also happened to be his directorial debut – Dances with Wolves. Little did he know that the film would go on to receive a whopping twelve nominations at the 63rd Academy Awards and win seven out of those. Clearly, the film was loved by many.

When he came to Kevin Costner’s Dances with Wolves, he proved a very common misconception wrong.

Although Yellowstone has been widely hailed as one of the best television series to have ever been created, it has had some of its own controversial decisions as well. While some of these choices may seem meaningless to fans initially, further exploration of the storyline makes it evident almost every time that all of it was only for the better.

Jeremy Clarkson says he is bowed, but not beaten, by the local government bureaucracy he encounters as a farmer, but is inspired to fight by Kevin Costner’s character in Yellowstone.
The former Grand Tour presenter, whose hit Amazon Video show Clarkson’s Farm will return for a third series on May 3, told The Times newspaper he’s been watching the Paramount+ drama Yellowstone and is taking his cue to challenge officialdom from Costner’s character of rancher John Dutton:
“I’ve been watching Yellowstone. When someone displeases them, they murder them, take them across the state line and throw them in a ravine. I’ve been looking at that scene a lot.”
Clarkson’s turn to farming has seen a freshly successful chapter in his long TV career. The first series was commissioned for a single season in 2019 but went on to become the UK’s most watched Amazon original show.

Prime Video has debuted the trailer for the upcoming adventure with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, ‘The Grand Tour: Sand Job.’ Which is perfect timing to present our extended interview with one the its stars – Richard Hammond.
Colin Hart sat down with the presenter to talk about the new series, the lure and appeal of the show as it has evolved and what was the spark in the original Top Gear meetings that helped spawn these huge shows.
Trailer Time!
Jeremy, James and Richard head to Africa for their penultimate adventure, and given they are entering the end game, they make sure this outing is a spectacular one.
In the remote African country of Mauritania, the trio follow in the footsteps of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally. Instead of bespoke Dakar racers, the boys must complete their journey in cheap modified sports cars. Their journey begins with the world...

French farmers, who are currently blockading Paris with their tractors to protest the economic crisis facing the country’s agricultural sector, have found an unlikely hero in Jeremy Clarkson.
The controversial TV presenter has won praise from the protestors for his Amazon Prime Video Series Clarkson’s Farm, following his attempts to run his Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds, and public backing of British farming.
“We need one of our French celebrities to do the same thing as Jeremy Clarkson in Amazon Prime Series Clarkson’s Farm,” protesting French farmer Robi Leduc told a reporter from the UK’s The Telegraph newspaper.
French farmers say their sector is on the brink of collapse as incomes fall due to rising environmental regulations, red tape and competition from cheaper imports, all issues Clarkson has talked about in his show in relation to British farming.
“Everything he explained: that’s how and why we are here today,...

When the news came out in December that “The Grand Tour” — Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond’s post-“Top Gear” automotive series — would be coming to an end, fans were left wondering why.
But, in a new interview with The Times, Clarkson has delivered a cheeky yet straightforward answer: it’s because he’s “unfit and fat and old.”
Clarkson told The Times that the show “is immensely physical, and when you’re unfit and fat and old, which I am…” He also feels the trio has done just about “everything you can do with a car.”
“I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else,” Clarkson said. “We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.”
There are still two more specials of “The Grand Tour,...

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed why it’s the end of the road for The Grand Tour. Clarkson said he and co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, decided to quit the Amazon Prime Video show after running out of steam.
In an interview with The Times of London, Clarkson said it was becoming increasingly difficult to conjure up outlandish adventures for the show and that the presenters were all showing their age.
Clarkson, who is 63, said: “I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else. We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air.”
He added that The Grand Tour missions are “immensely physical” and had become increasingly difficult when “you’re unfit and fat and old.” “If you’re Bear Grylls you go to a hotel — there...

James May has left the car door open for a reunion with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond after they park their Prime Video series The Grand Tour for a final time.
During BBC Radio 4’s Today program, which he was guest editing this morning, he responded to a question about the future of the series by saying: “Well, we’ve filmed the last one for now. I suppose that makes me technically unemployed — I can hear the cheers rolling around the country.
“We’ve got two in the bag, though, so there’s one coming out very soon. I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say here. Then [there is] another one coming out a bit after that.”
In November, Clarkson told The Times newspaper that the trio were “done” after 34 years of car review programs. However, Prime Video is yet to officially cancel The Grand Tour, which is among its highest-rating original series.

Amazon Prime Video’s automotive series “The Grand Tour” is not moving forward at the streamer — at least with its current hosts, former “Top Gear” trio Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.
Sources tell Variety that Clarkson, May and Hammond have just returned from filming the show’s final special in Zimbabwe, which will launch at a later date next year and conclude the fifth season. A special set in Mauritania will launch before that, in February. Though options to continue the series with different hosts are being explored, it has not yet been greenlit. The “Grand Tour” news follows the announcement earlier this week that Clarkson’s other show on Amazon Prime Video, “Clarkson’s Farm,” is getting a fourth season.
Clarkson said in a statement to The Times on Thursday, “We’re done. I have reviewed cars on TV since 1989. That’s 34 years. And after next year, I...

All3 Buyer Rumors Heat Up
Banijay beckons: The future of All3Media has been under discussion for a large portion of 2023, and it appears a deal might be reaching the finish line. It’s entirely possible there will have been another update by the time you read this, but as of right now it looks like the auction for the Squid Game: The Challenge and The Traitors super-indie will end with rival Banijay the winner. In October, we revealed Banijay, Peter Chernin’s North Road Company and Goldman Sachs were the frontrunners, with ITV keeping tabs on things from the sidelines. At industry shindig Content London this week (more on that below), rumors were flying that the bidding process was coming to a head,...
