When she was at the age of 3, her parents - Anne and Bill - moved the family to Peterlee (County Durham, where her parents were from [they are now deceased]). Whe she was 10 years old, her father got a job at ICI (a chemical producer company) and the family moved to Billingham (also in Co. Durham).
