Joshua Winget grew up in suburban Washington D.C., studying visual art
and music from an early age. He attended Ithaca College, where he
designed and completed a planned studies major in Sound Design and
Composition. After graduating, he headed out to Los Angeles to pursue a
career in Sound Design and Film Scoring. After a year of working as a
freelance music editor and sound designer on album and studio projects,
Josh got an opportunity to work on his first major feature film, Barry
Levinson's Toys (1992), assisting Jim Flamberg in editing sequences of
music for the film. From that time on, he was hooked, and began a
feature film music editing career in Earnest. He's had many terrific
opportunities, including ongoing relationships with several film
composers, directors, and producers. He's been nominated eight times
for M.P.S.E. Golden Reel awards for music editing, for Strange Days,
Titan A.E., Dune, Ice Age, And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself,
Everybody Hates Chris, and Robots. He has been nominated for the Emmy
for Dune and won an Emmy for his work on And Starring Pancho Villa as
Himself.
