Claire Baldwin(III)
- Actress
Claire was born on 03 October 1986 in Frankston, Victoria and developed a love for reading, storytelling and performing from a young age. She pursued horse riding, tennis, dancing and acting throughout her school years and aspired to a career in acting and directing.
Seeking a unique adventure, Claire joined the Royal Australian Navy after graduating high school and has enjoyed a sixteen-year career as a Maritime Warfare Officer, completing postings at sea, across Australia and in the Middle East.
While the Australian Defence Force taught her many things, Claire's craving for creativity and performing could not be satisfied through her service. She has performed in numerous plays and musicals in Victoria, NSW and Europe, and enjoyed the opportunity to combine her military background with her acting career in a promotional commercial for the RSL Queensland in 2018. Claire has completed training with NIDA; VCA; the Australian Shakespeare Company; the Prague Shakespeare Company; and graduated from the Full-Time Acting for Television Course at the Film & Television Studio International in Melbourne in 2019. In late 2019, Claire was rapt to join the casts of 'Wentworth: Season 8' and 'Halifax: Retribution'.
In her other life, Claire co-owns a liquor wholesaling business and a gin company; writes academic articles and creative stories; and is working toward her aspiration to own and operate an animal rescue retreat where homeless animals and broken people can find comfort and love.
Claire is energised by spending time with her numerous fur and feather children; studying and learning new skills; reading Stephen King fiction; talking about Shakespeare; educating her palate; and empowering and encouraging others to excel.
