Shavonne Conroy
- Actress
Shavonne Conroy began her career as a singer after completing her MFA in Musical Theatre and Opera. She spent years on stage in New York (and regional productions) starring in powerful lead roles including Evita (Evita), Sally Bowles in Cabaret, and Mona in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. A versatile singer and comedic actress, she also appeared in singing skits on Late Night with David Letterman.
Her acting carries over to serial television as well, on shows like Law & Order, Guiding Light and Rescue Me. As a voiceover artist, she is widely known for creating three of the voices for Game of the Year, BioShock. You may have also seen Shavonne in numerous national and regional commercials through the years.
As a singer, she has headlined at the famed New York City Waldorf-Astoria, the St. Regis, opened for Jennifer Holliday and, of course, has sung the National Anthem at many professional sporting events. Shavonne performed with Tony/Grammy/Emmy award-winning Charles Strouse, composer of the classic musical Annie!
Making a name for herself at a very young age, Shavonne has worked with the likes of Bob Hope, Dennis Leary, Paul Schaffer, Manu Ginobli, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Kelly Ripa, Charles Durning and many others.
Valuable behind the camera (or curtain) her skills include producing, casting, talent coordination, fund-raising, and the myriad of other tasks required in complex stage, film and television productions.
And yes, Shavonne did go to high school with Richard Linklater who portrayed her in Dazed and Confused, but no, she wasn't really that cool.
