[observation, 2016] The problem of the last eight years is Londoners have been given the impression that the job of the mayor is to cut ribbons, walk the red carpet and tell a few jokes. I can do all that, by the way, as well. But actually, mayors can do a huge amount. They can use the pulpit do city hall to bring people together.
