The series about the lives of high school students ran for exactly ten years – from 1990 to 2000. The most successful seasons of Beverly Hills, 90210 were watched by 14.5 million viewers in the US alone, and by the same number of fans around the world.
During this time, the main characters evolved from shallow high school students to complex personalities, dealing not only with common teenage problems, but also with more serious issues such as alcoholism and domestic violence.
Despite the fact that the main characters became world famous, Beverly Hills, 90210 was the first and last major project for most of the cast.

Forget Batman, forget the X-Men. The greatest rogues gallery in comics history belongs to Spider-Man. So great are his baddies that Sony continues to spend millions of dollars to launch a cinematic universe around them. And while Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Venom continue to get most of the attention, even B-level guys like the Spot have been elevated to big bads.
But let’s be honest, even Spider-Man comics have a few duds when it comes to bad guys. Even if we took out the horrendous mess that was the Clone Saga (and we aren’t going to take it out), Spider-Man would still have too many losers and redundant villains to count. So, here are the absolute worst of the worst in Spider-Man’s villain roster, characters so dull that they aren’t good for much besides getting killed in a crossover event.

Her roots were planted in the past. Though her life was changing fast, who she was was who she wanted to be. Twenty years ago, the now defunct WB network introduced a family sitcom starring country music icon and American treasure Reba McEntire. Appropriately titled “Reba,” in the multicamera sitcom, McEntire plays Reba Hart, a recent divorcee who now has to handle being a single mother who worked too hard — but who also loves her kids and never stops.
Of course, outside of just the financial struggles of becoming a single mother (when the father was the breadwinner), this new normal was made even more difficult for Reba with the reveal that her eldest child, popular high school cheerleader Cheyenne (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), was impregnated by her himbo boyfriend, star high school football player Van (Steve Howey). In the pilot, Van is kicked out of his home for this and moves in with the Harts,...

Fox has officially ordered a revival of Beverly Hills, 90210. Most of the original class — Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling (Rip Scott) — are returning for an event series that will last six episodes and will air this summer (Looks like Brenda will be spending the summer alone in Paris while Dylan and Kelly hook up on the beach again). I jest, because this isn’t just a “Brandon has to move back into his parent’s old house with Brenda and Steve to reenact his entire childhood because he is a broke widow” kind of revival. Variety reports that things are going to get weird and wonderful:
The actors will not be playing their characters from the show, but rather heightened versions of themselves. Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and...

Michael Moore appeared on Real Time With Bill Maher Friday to slam the Michigan government, especially Governor Rick Snyder, for their handling of the Flint water crisis. In 2000, Darren Star created the WB comedy Grosse Pointe, a satire about a popular teen soap opera, based loosely on his time as executive producer of Beverly Hills, 90210. That short-lived series had more insight into the creation of one of TV's longest-running and most successful teen dramas than Lifetime's latest entry into its Unauthorized oeuvre. But still, my life's work has led me to this moment. A devoted fan of the original Beverly Hills, 90210, I watched every single episode when the show originally aired. I had the chance to sit down with Ant-Man director Peyton Reed and thought there was no better time to release the interview than now, thanks to the film hitting theaters this week. Reed is probably best known for directing the comedy films Yes Man and The Break-Up. He has also directed episodes of New Girl, Grosse Pointe and The Weird Al Show. It was an absolute blast to sit down with him and I think you'll learn a thing or two that may surprise you both about film and the people behind it. What did the filmmakers have to say about bringing Peyton Reed on to bring the story and the new franchise to the forefront of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? They thought he was the perfect choice! "I've been a fan of Peyton's for a long time," says producer Kevin Feige. "I have met and spoken to him...

We've all been there. By "there," we mean "mortifying incident in front of peers." A few members of the Grosse Pointe Music Academy in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, were performing as the Rubber Band, playing a cover of Weezer's "Undone (The Sweater Song)," which for these kids surely has to qualify as "classic rock." It didn't go as planned. Part of what makes the video so endearing is the look of instant, pre-teen terror on the keyboardist's face when his instrument falls to the ground, or the deer-in-headlights look of the rest of the band. A few questions here: What cruel person put this video of a teenage cover band crashing and burning a Weezer cover on the internet? And why wouldn't they also include what (I assume!) was the band's joyous recovery? Let's assume I'm being super paranoid, but, even though it's posted by an account linked to Michigan's Grosse Pointe Music Academy, I smell the scent of Jimmy Kimmel on this thing. Either way: Get these kids a record deal; they've gone viral.

Detroit (AP) — A Michigan judge has dismissed an arrest warrant that had been issued for Grammy Award-winning singer Anita Baker. A Wayne County Circuit judge had signed off on the warrant last week. It was sought by the lawyer for a company that says Baker owes it $15,000 for work done on her Grosse Pointe home. According to Wdiv-tv, Judge Edward Ewell said Monday that while the warrant has been dismissed, the lawsuit over the money will continue at a hearing in April. Baker tells Wxyz-tv she's grateful the judge lifted the warrant. The singer's lawyer has said Baker didn't know she had been sued in 2011 by Ray A. Smith Painting & Decorating. Award-winning actor renowned for her work on Broadway and roles in classic films such as East of Eden and The Haunting

And you might assume that the film's "found footage" conceit would further hamper its producers' ability to excise a franchise from this thriller's frame.
And yet Hollywood has, once again, dug down deep and heroically summoned the artistic courage (with an assured distribution deal and built-in-audience) to somehow concoct a sequel, cleverly titled "The Last Exorcism Part II," despite all your contrarian naysaying.
We salute this artistic courage with some superb sequel pitches of our own. And we're confident the movie-going public will flock to see them — mainly due to faint name recognition. Are you listening, Hollywood producers?

AMC's 1980s-set pilot "Halt & Catch Fire" has tapped Lee Pace as its lead.
The "Pushing Daisies" star will play a computer visionary in the pilot, which is about the PC revolution of the 1980s. His character is a former top salesman at Ibm who joins a Dallas tech firm. Mackenzie Davis ("Smashed") will also star as a gifted young programmer.
If it's picked up, "Halt & Catch Fire" will be the first series role for Pace since "Pushing Daisies" ended in 2009. His recent movie credits include "Lincoln" and "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey"; he'll be in the next two "Hobbit" films as well.
More pilot casting:
- Alicia Silverstone will star in Lifetime's pilot "Hr," which has been in development for almost a year. Silverstone plays the head of human resources at a big company who changes her outlook on life and work after suffering a head injury. [Deadline]

Before he won an Oscar this year for helping adapt the book on which Alexander Payne’s The Descendants was based, Nat Faxon had survived Hollywood on steady guest spots, parts in failed sitcoms (including his first as Kevin the Pa in Grosse Pointe, which we still miss dearly) and voice work on Seth MacFarlane’s animated shows. Now he’s busy wrapping The Way, Way Back, a film he wrote and directed with Community’s Jim Rash, and starring in the new Fox sibling comedy Ben and Kate (premiering tonight at 8:30 p.m.). On his first day off from shooting, Faxon spoke with Vulture about the man-child who, in success, he’ll be playing for the next six seasons, the alien script that tested his friendship with Rash before they landed The Descendants, and how he failed to get in on Angelina Jolie’s Leg action. The original...

The days are long, the mercury is high and Fridays aren't even remotely productive -- yet somehow it just doesn't feel like summer.
That might have something to do with the fact that our usually-scheduled season of "Psych" won't hit the tube until October. But not all is lost. There is some fun to be had on the Season 6 front.
First up, TVLine reports that we can expect a "Bachelorette" spoof in an upcoming episode, with Greg Grunberg ("Heroes") and Lindsay Sloane ("Grosse Pointe" anyone?) playing a controlling producer and the dating show's single lady, respectively.
The spoofed series, "Missed Connections," calls in Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) when one of the male suitors is attacked -- no word on whether or not the victim will be played by "Real World" alum and WWE star Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, who'll also appear.

Get your pen and paper out; we’re adding more people to the guest star list for Weeds Season 7. We already know that Lindsay Sloane will be gracing us with her appearance, and The Hollywood Reporter says we’ll also be seeing the likes of Martin Short and Aidan Quinn for a few episodes a piece.
Short (Damages) will play an eccentric attorney for at least three episodes, while Quinn (Prime Suspect) has been cast in four episodes as a charismatic investment firm CEO. Sloane (Grosse Pointe) will appear in six episodes as Maxeen, an artist.
Sounds very business-like. With the new setting of New York City, we’ll of course be seeing more roles like this, but I’m thinking Quinn will be the Botwin’s attorney more than anything. But wait, I’m not done listing names quite yet. Returning for four episodes is Jennifer Jason Leigh as Nancy’s sister.

Mary-Louise Parker may look cute as a button in prison garb and nerd glasses, but Nancy Botwin is about to go from big house to Big Apple when Weeds' seventh season takes the Botwin Family to the glamour of New York City.
And according to Showtime's press release, New York isn't the only change in store, and spoilers be warned. Season Six of Weeds ended with Nancy turning herself in for the murder of Pilar Zuazo, which season seven certainly doesn't ignore, picking up a full three years later upon Nancy's parole from prison! Of course, the Feds wouldn't simply let Nancy loose in the Big Apple, as our favorite dealer must first complete her probation in a strictly monitored halfway house while her boys head for NYC with Doug (Kevin Nealon) in tow.

There’s some nice buzz surrounding Andy Botwin’s love life on Weeds. Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that the Showtime comedy has tapped the hilarious and underrated Lindsay Sloane (Bring It On, Grosse Pointe) to join the cast as a love interest for Justin Kirk’s alter ego.
Sloane — whose deal calls for her to appear in at least six episodes of the show’s upcoming seventh season — will play Maxeen, a quirky, artsy conceptual artist in New York who takes a liking to Andy.
Sloane next appears opposite Saturday Night Live‘s Jason Sudeikis in the big-screen comedy A Good Old Fashioned Orgy.

Directed by: Robert Luketic
Cast: Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Tom Selleck, Catherine O’Hara
Running Time: 1 hr 40 mins
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: June 4, 2010
Plot: Spencer (Kutcher) is a great catch. At least that’s what Jen (Heigl) thinks. Turns out he is a spy trying to get out of the business. After three years of the perfect suburban life, his cover is blown and every where he looks, someone he knows is trying to kill him.
Who’S It For? Do you want to turn off your brain, get one or two chuckles, look at pretty people, and then go to bed? Then save this to Netflix now.
Expectations: Lionsgate didn’t screen this one for critics, and that tends to never be a good thing. Heigl has rubbed me the wrong way, especially in The Ugly Truth. Kutcher is hit or miss, but taking him seriously as a...

While the industry is buzzing about Abrams’ Undercovers, Jerry Bruckheimer’s Chase, David E. Kelley’s Kindreds and Paul Reiser’s Next – I’ve decided to pour through the fall 2010 pilot orders and let you know what else is out there waiting in the wings.
From ABC the show with the mostest seems to be Mr. Sunshine. It’s a single camera dramadey starring Mathew Perry and Allison Janney. Really, bringing those two together on a single show means awesomeness, so, well there you go. Perry will be playing a self-involved manager of a second-rate sports team with Janney as his boss.
While I am always excited to see the fuss fans make over Alex O’Loughlin and Hawaii Five-o should be a fun remake, the drama I am most interested in from CBS is The Quinn-Tuplets.
I’ve always been a sucker for entertainment dramas, A Star is Born through to Entourage.

In honor of Valentine's Day, our staff will be sharing some of their favorite romantic scenes all day long.
Romance in the movies is usually rewardingly artifical -- some tanned hunk with washerboard abs kissing some gorgeous starlet on a sandy, moonlit beach. It's so Hollywood, and it can be just as satisfying (and phony) as an action movie's bulletproof hero or any comedy's idiotic manchild. Maybe it's not realistic, but the formula works.
I think that's the reason why the "airplane" scene in Grosse Pointe Blank stands out so much to me. It's real. Leading up to this scene, Martin Blank (John Cusack) has returned to his hometown of Grosse Pointe for his high school reunion, after running away on Prom Night ten years earlier to join the armed forces (and eventually become a hitman-with-a-heart). The girl he stood up that night is Debi Newberry (Minnie Driver), now a Grosse Pointe radio DJ,...

Matt LeBlanc is getting a new show? Get thee behind me, thoughts of Joey! The Showtime project, created by David Crane and Jeffry Klarik, follows "a British couple whose hit UK show is turned into a dumbed-down American sitcom starring LeBlanc (as himself)." I...am optimistic, particularly because this has been an otherwise solid week for Friends alums. First, I'm loving Cougar Town almost as much as Slezak is -- Courteney Cox is great in it, and totally not Monica, which is both good (the show needs it) and bad (I loved Monica). Second, Lisa Kudrow sang "Smelly Cat" at...
