CAA has signed Katty Kay, the popular author and BBC correspondent and author, and will serve as her representative for many of her ventures.
The announcement comes just days after Kay rejoined the BBC after leaving last May to join Ozy Media, an ill-fated venture alleged in November to have committed securities fraud. Kay left BBC in a bid to broaden her horizons in digital and audio media, but left Ozy soon after it came under scrutiny. “I was looking forward to working with the talented young reporters but I did not expect this!” she wrote at the time in a statement released on Twitter.
Her return to BBC is a homecoming of sorts, and she is expected to host documentaries from different points around the globe, create podcasts, write a weekly column and report news during moments of import. She has been named a U.S. special correspondent for BBC Studios.

HBO Max’s “Pretty Little Liars” reboot has added two more cast members in Malia Pyles and Zaria.
Titled “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” the series is set within the same universe as the Freeform hit but centers on a different set of characters in a new town. The project is the fourth entry in the “Pretty Little Liars” franchise, following the flagship series (which ran for seven seasons) and the short-lived spinoffs “Ravenswood” and “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.”
Zaria will play Faran, a poised, disciplined ballerina with aspirations to make it out of Millwood. But “A” isn’t the only villain in Faran’s life. In the world of ballet, it’s death by a thousand microaggressions.
Pyles will portray Minnie, the youngest of the Little Liars. Having survived a childhood trauma, Minnie spends most of her time in a virtual world, but she is more than capable...

Tim Roth leads an excellent cast in unpredictable new Sky Atlantic revenge drama Tin Star, out now…
“It’s the disposal,” says Tim Roth. “The killing isn’t the problem, it’s the disposal that’s the problem. You run out of space.” The storage issues faced by serial killers aren’t something to which many of us will have devoted much thought. Roth has. Reassuringly, he’s had reason to thanks to his recent sinister role as real-life murderer Reg Christie in BBC drama Rillington Place. “Charming fella” he jokes.

Restraint was backed by the government.s screen agency, directed by one of the country.s top Tvc directors, and starred rising talent. Brendan Swift finds out why a $5 million taut-thriller gathered dust for years before a one-week cinema run in 2009. Restraint will be shown on TV this weekend on Channel Nine at 9.30pm on Saturday, April 14. (This article originally appeared in If #121, June 2009.)
It was an auspicious day. On April 2, Restraint had its premiere at inner-Sydney.s Chauvel Cinema . a small dual-screen complex better known for showing small Australian and art-house films. Among the cast and crew were respected director of photography Simon Duggan (I, Robot, Knowing), co-producer Anna Fawcett, and top TV commercials director David Denneen. But Denneen would give no speech that night. It had been almost four years since cameras stopped rolling and the film.s long-delayed release was less a celebration than a Pyrrhic victory.

Every fiber of my being tells me to hate the trailers for The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Sure, much of it is born out of my personal disdain for the disastrous, virus-like career of Nicholas Cage, who is featured in every 2.5 movies to come out of Hollywood. And they're never good movies. Also, the idea is kind of dumb, as it's supposed to be a sort of live-action re-imagining of the classic vignette from Fantasia. Also? Jerry Bruckheimer, who takes all good ideas and works very, very hard to make them suck.
And yet... Fuck me. I'm seriously disappointed in myself, because goddamnit, it looks kind of fun. Not good, mind you. But fun. Plus, it's got Jay Baruchel, and I dig his geeky shtick. If there was some sort of awkward, stuttery nerd-off between him and Michael Cera, I'm taking Baruchel every time. Teresa Palmer is an added bonus -- I've only seen her in Restraint,...

What can I say? After the likes of The Horseman, Acolytes, Lake Mungo, The Square, and the upcoming Beautiful and all sorts of other goodies coming out of Australia, I can say I'm pretty excited for the genre fare their spitting out. I wonder, will this revival of sorts get a name? Restraint will be having a small theatrical world premier in April followed by a national DVD release, and it's directed by newcomer David Denneen and stars Travis Fimmel, Teresa Palmer (The Grudge 2), and Stephen Moyer (True Blood). This looks like a straight up psychological thriller, so check er out!
A brutal crime is commited. Our murderous pair, Ron and Dale, seek a safe haven to hide out. But what they thought was an abandoned mansion is inhabited by a rich agoraphobic, Andrew, who becomes their hostage. Or does he? Who is the victim in this threesome? Whatever...
