A sibling trait to yandere. Yangire characters, like their yandere counterparts, will make sudden and brutal turns from lovely to psycho and back. The main difference lies in the reason for their break: yandere break driven by their love, whereas yangire break for basically any other reason. That is evidenced by their morphological origin: yandere comes from the composition of yanderu (病んでる), meaning to be sick, and deredere (デレデレ), meaning to be lovestruck, while yangire replaces deredere with kire/gire (切れ), meaning to cut/sever, or also pieces/slices.
