"After knowledge comes redemption. And then you shall know peace."
—Lazarus Prime to Lala[src]

Lazarus Prime is the resurrectionist of Latavious "Lala" Johnson and guide on his quest to kill Tobias Whale.

Biography[]

Original multiverse[]

Background[]

At some point, Lady Eve learned of Lazarus-Prime and his "gifts". Impressed by his ability to bring the dead back to life, she brought him to Blackbird Funeral Parlor to work as her resurrectionist. Over time, the two became close friends and Lazarus was even distraught when Eve was murdered by Tobias Whale's henchmen.[1]

Resurrecting Lala[]

In January 2019, Lazarus resurrected Latavious "Lala" Johnson and instructed him to find the source of his pain. As Lala regains consciousness, he asks why he is not allowed to die. Lazarus tells him he still has work to do and points him to Jefferson Pierce and Earl. Lazarus tells him that knowledge will lead to redemption and peace.[2]

Later, Lala visits Lazarus and reveals that he was the one who killed Earl. With nothing but pain in his life, Lala comes to realize that the source of it all is Tobias Whale. Lazarus agrees that killing Tobias might be the best option since he was responsible for the death of Lady Eve as well. She had taught Lazarus to use his gifts and to love her, and he feels an emptiness in his heart without her.[1]

Anti-Monitor Crisis[]

During the Anti-Monitor Crisis, Lazarus as well as everyone in the multiverse except for the seven Paragons, was killed in an antimatter wave by the Anti-Monitor on December 10, 2019,[3] only to be restored a month later, after the Paragons and the Spectre created a new universe.[4]

New multiverse[]

At some point on Earth-Prime, Lazarus resurrected Lady Eve. It was later revealed that he was also known by Agent Odell.[5]

Season 3[]

Trivia[]

  • Lazarus-Prime is strongly implied to be a necromancer due to his connection to the afterlife and other unspecified "gifts" that are alluded to be of supernatural origin.[1]
