We lobby
We aim to influence the policies related to our fields of action, from promoting transparency and access to data to the prevention of corruption and the promotion of good governance. Our team meets with public representatives to push for change: reform of the Public Sector Contracts Law, enforcement of the Transparency Law or the regulation of interest groups are just a few examples of areas where we have already achieved significant progress.
The changes we seek
-
Reform of the Transparency Law that grants power, resources and independence to the CTBG and a regulation that narrows its limits and prevents new restrictions.
-
Transparency in the entire public procurement process and creation of a body to monitor this.
-
Creation of a register of lobby groups, publication of the work schedules and meetings of all senior officials, MPs and senators and publication of the entire process behind the approval of laws and regulations.
-
Control and transparency of governmental pardons, with a thorough reform of the law that regulates them.
-
Transparency in key areas such as budgetary execution, travels of senior officials and deputies, conflicts of interest, budgets and costs of fire prevention and fire fighting, institutional advertising and the hiring of special advisors, among others.
-
Transparency of medicine prices and the links between the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare organizations and professionals, including direct and non-direct payments.
-
Easy and clear access to public subsidies, including a reform of the social energy tariffs for vulnerable households.
Our recommendations
Our own record of meetings
We lobby. And, because we believe in the same values we demand of political parties and public officials, we’re the first to follow our own demands of accountability. Here, we itemize each and every one of our meetings, indicating the date, attendees and subjects discussed. You can also browse the documents shared in these meetings, which contain our recommendations. We started to keep records on 14th May 2015.
