This images lists a CC-BY permission, but the reference page on the dutch wikis shows just a "wikipedia only" permission. Teun Spaans 10:22, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This applies to all images in Category talk:Files by User:Paulblank from nl.wikipedia . Teun Spaans 11:56, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The image desctiption page contains an e-mail address. Could somebody contact the author and ask him whether he intends to release the images under such a license (and preferably e-mail the Wikimedia Foundation of the licensing), before deleting it? - MikeRosoft 15:13, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep on the mass deletion request. There is a reference [1] that points at a comment in Dutch, translating to: "Sure... This licensing thing is getting boring. The images on my web site at http://www.postproduktie.nl/voetbal.htm can be used on Wikipedia. These are all images created by me, Paul Blank, and there is no copyright on them. Other users also have my permission to put the images on Wikipedia with the required attribution. I have very little knowledge on licenses myself, but if someone would care to license them correctly, that would make me happy." I underlined the cardinal points in Mr. Blank's statement. Based on this comment, I decided that cc-by-sa-2.5-nl was a very nice license for Mr. Blank. If you think this warrents removal of the images, so be it. As far as I read things, he has given permission to use the images of soccer players freely with attribution. As for this particular image, that was claimed to be uploaded by the author and later transferred to Commons. I can find no evidence [2] to support that claim. As far as I can see this image was never uploaded to the Dutch Wikipedia by Paul Blank himself. And as quen Beatrice is not a professional socces player, this image does not appear to fall within the permission given by Paul Blank. Hence:  Delete on this particular image. • Yeah that was my mistake. Since the image was used on nl wiki: nl:Afbeelding:Beatrix05.jpg with a creative commons license, I assumed that the copyright would be ok. I see now that the image was not actually uploaded by Mr. Blank, and was not aware that he only gave permission for football players. Jacoplane 12:46, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • Pauls permission state can be used on Wikipedia and again to put the images on Wikipedia. I think it would be a good thing if Paul is aimaled again to ask for clarification: does he allow anyone to use these images for any purpose, including commercial, as long as he is attributed, or did he intend to give permission for wikipedia only? Speedy keep I revise my previous statement. I have found a proper OTRS ticket: {{PermissionOTRS|ticket=https://secure.wikimedia.org/otrs/index.pl?Action=AgentTicketZoom&TicketID=314465&ArticleID=392430#392430}}. It licenses cc-by-2.5 for all 'known people and soccer players' from http://www.postproduktie.nl, with personal photographs explicitely excluded from this license.
