Description

Stoomtrein Moortje. De Stoomtrein is sinds 1969 één van de attracties in Attractiepark de Efteling te Kaatsheuvel. Efteling Stoomtrein Maatschappij telt vijf locomotieven: 'Aagje' (bouwjaar 1911, in de Efteling sinds 1968), 'Moortje' (bouwjaar 1908, in de Efteling sinds 1974), 'Neefje' (bouwjaar 1914, in de Efteling sinds 1981), 'Trijntje' (bouwjaar 1992), en 'Dieseltje' (deze rijdt vroeg in de ochtend, als de stoomlocomotieven nog op temperatuur moeten komen).

'Moortje'. Deze loc was door Orenstein & Koppel gebouwd en wel in 1908 (fabrieksnummer 2697). Zij werd overgenomen van een sloper in Brussel en was niet meer dan een hoop oud ijzer. Na een grote herstelling, inclusief een nieuwe ketel en een nieuwe tender, kon de loc in 1974 in dienst gesteld worden. Vanwege de zwarte kleur werd de loc 'Moortje' gedoopt.
