[edit]DescriptionSanderling, Belize (5678125655).jpg |
This is from my trip to Belize in 2005. This is a Sanderling aka Calidris alba, or Crocethia alba, or Erolia alba. (Thanks for Mr & Mrs Apeteryx australis for pointing it out). It lives in the arctic, and was on vacation in Belize, just like we were! This was a lucky shot with the 100-400mm telephoto on max. You can see the very narrow field of focus, and the bird is spot on. I remember struggling to point the heavy lens on these little birds that move all the time. ISO 100, 400mm, f10, 1/500. Processed in Adobe Camera Raw to brighten the exposure, add a bit of curves. Imagenomic Noiseware to clean the noise on the water, and a bit of smart sharpen on the bird. |
