Synopsis for "The Couch"

As part of Wayne Enterprises' yearly employee evaluation, Bruce Wayne meets with a psychiatrist for a round of word-association. Each word the psychiatrist uses brings a Batman-related image to mind, but Bruce quickly lies and gives the response that a carefree billionaire "should" provide:

  • "Green" causes him to think of Poison Ivy, but he replies "money"
  • "Trust" causes him to think of Superman, but he replies "fund"
  • "Good" causes him to think of the Gotham City Police Department, but he replies "charity"
  • Etc.

However, when the psychiatrist states "happiness", Bruce thinks of his parents and ends the session. Only when he begins Batman's nightly patrol does he answer aloud: "Gotham."
