In the last quarter of 1941, Dr. Fate began to wear an ordinary half helmet because he feared Nabu's influence on him while wearing the Helmet of Fate[1]. Without the Helmet of Fate, his power was severely reduced. Kent was only able to wield power afforded him by the Cloak of Destiny, the Amulet of Anubis and whatever sorcery he was able to wield naturally.

Powers Granted

  • Magical Repository: During Inza's tenure as Doctor Fate, Kent Nelson would eventually fasciliate a means of utilize his vast sorcerous abilities as Doctor Fate by using the half-helmet. However, his sorcerous abilities would instead be fasciliated through the Lord of Order Shat-Ru, whose connection to the half-helm would allow Kent, a human being, to channel magic through a Lord of Order in a similar manner to a familar used by a witch. The half helmet granted him the abilities similar to the Helmet of Fate.[2]
