Infinity Inc. #46 is an issue of the series Infinity Inc. (Volume 1) with a cover date of January, 1988.

Synopsis for "Swamped!"

Todd Rice is visiting his new girlfriend Marcie Cooper when, to his astonishment, she reveals that she is actually a Manhunter, and has stolen Molly Mayne Scott's special glasses and adopted a costumed identity as the new Harlequin. When she attempts to recruit Todd to the Manhunters' side, he quickly departs in anger and disgust.

Shortly afterward, Dan Richards, formerly the super-hero called Manhunter, who is also Marcie's grandfather, is visiting Molly. Marcie shows up in her Harlequin identity and attacks them, aided by Richards's dog Thor, which is revealed as a Manhunter-created robot. It was Richards himself who had first involved Marcie with the Manhunters, unaware until now of their true, evil intentions.

Thor is destroyed as Dan and Molly escape in her car, but Marcie uses the Harlequin's illusion-casting powers to cause them to crash. The next morning, at a scheduled Infinity Inc. meeting, a projected image of Herupa Hando Hu and Nadia Safir appears and petitions the group to seek out the Floronic Man, the last of the Chosen, who has escaped from Arkham Asylum with the aid of a Manhunter. Then Obsidian stuns the team with his announcement of Marcie's true identity.

A short time later finds four of the teammates and their charge, Mr. Bones, in the Louisiana bayou, where they find the Floronic Man and the Manhunter who had posed as Dr. Wetson, an Arkham Asylum staff member. To his surprise, Obsidian is easily overcome by the bogus doctor, while Jade finds her power ineffective against the Floronic Man. Hourman, Wildcat, and Bones come to Obsidian's rescue, and the Manhunter is destroyed in their battle. Jade, however, is in serious trouble, until Solomon Grundy, who had recently gone missing from Infinity's headquarters, suddenly appears and begins battling the plant-man. Eventually, Jade is forced to use her power against Grundy to prevent him from killing Woodrue. The companions then return to Los Angeles with both Grundy and Woodrue in tow.
