Synopsis for "Even The Least Among Us"

Scott Free and Big Barda investigate Sister Sunlight, a mysterious girl who miraculously heals people on Earth. Since they don't know her from New Genesis, they assume she might be from Apokolips, and Barda is eager to confront her, thinking she might have ulterior motives. Scott calms her down and reminds her of Auralie, an oppressed Apokoliptian girl who also had a gift but died at the hand of Granny Goodness' torturers.

Later, Scott and Barda sense a Mother Box nearby and track it to a children's cancer clinic in Hobbs Bay, where they encounter a horde of Parademons looking for the girl. During the fight, a Parademon lethally wounds Scott, and Barda, angry, splits the Parademon in half. As Scott dies in her arms, Barda implores Sunlight to heal him, and the girl complies, saving Scott. However, Sunlight is too weak to cure the cancer of a three-year-old baby in the clinic. With no hope left for either of them, Sunlight carries the baby in her arms and accompanies him to the Source.

Elsewhere, the Black Racer senses the two souls joining the Source, but he also perceives future events will bring much more souls for him to harvest.

Synopsis for "Payment"

On Apokolips, Darkseid shows the latest discovery of his scientists, the X-Element, to his mother Heggra and her royal court. Metron walks into the room and takes the X-Element from Darkseid's hand, demanding him to fulfill his part of the deal. Darkseid hands it to him, also reminding him of his role, to use the X-Element to create weapons of mass destruction for Apokolips. Metron accepts the deal again, salutes queen Heggra, and leaves the banquet hall.

Back at his lab, Metron uses the X-Element to power his latest invention, the Mobius Chair, a powerful device that will allow him to harness the secrets of the universe and beyond, no matter how many gods he must sacrifice for that goal.
