Synopsis for "The Living Gun"
Will Magnus takes the Metal Men out to the beach and sailing on a lake. After a month in the sun, Magnus is driven mad and his robots form a gun for him to kill himself.
In the recent past, Magnus is recuperating from their fight against his evil replacements the Gas Gang. Platinum is eager to help him but he prefers the company of his human attendant Ava Woods. She decides to enter a beauty contest and win Magnus' affections.
Gold and Iron investigate bizarre solar flares and notice that one breaks loose from the umbra and is bombarded by cosmic dust, forming a living being: Solar-Brain. The entity grabs rocket ships near Earth and uses them as toys.
Tin helps Tina shop for a dress and when she enters the contest, she is enraged to be disqualified. She storms off but Magnus and Tin have no time to follow after: Gold calls them back to Magnus Labs as Solar-Brain reigns down terror on Earth with his telekinetic powers.
Tin is damaged in the hailstorm but Magnus takes Gold, Iron, Lead, and Mercury into a spaceship to combat Solar-Brain. Platinum arrives just as they lift off and she grabs onto the craft. The team pursues the monster, who is stockpiling Earth's weapons on a planetoid. Solar-Brain toys with the weaponry and when the Metal Men land, they are formed into the living gun and Magnus is forced to turn it on himself. Lead manages to cause a backfire through sheer force of will and the gun explodes, leaving Magnus to fend for himself.
He manages to take to giant pieces of spaceships and have Solar-Brain touch both at the same time to complete an electric circuit and electrify it. Magnus gathers the robots and heads back to Earth.
