Morpheus is a name used by two different characters from the DC Universe. The first one is the Greek God of dreams. The second one is Dream of the Endless, the son of Time and Night and the Lord of The Dreaming. Also known as the Sandman and Oneiros, Morpheus is both lord and personification of all dreams and reality. After his death, he was succeeded by Daniel Hall as Lord of the Dreaming.

The Greek god Morpheus was adapted by Robert Kanigher, first appearing in Wonder Woman #140 (1963). Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg began using the name for their Dream concept in Sandman (Volume 2) #1 (1989).
