Quote1 I'm Dr. Pat Windsor--not "Just a woman!" I made that jump because you radioed that medical aid was needed here quickly. The regular rescue party can't get here for five hours. Now do I get to my patient with or without your help? Quote2
— Dr. Pat src

Doctor Patricia Windsor, M.D., better known as Doctor Pat, was a brilliant young physician who traveled the world and defied danger and death to bring life-saving medicine to people in need in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

As a child, Patricia Windsor was inspired by the example of the doctor who helped her and her family to become a doctor herself. Although men often attempted to woo her, Pat was adamant that she wouldn't marry if it meant giving up her career in medicine.[1]

After earning her medical degree, Pat used her talents to help a variety of patients and people in need, never seeking notoriety or financial gain. In her first adventures, she filled in for a doctor at a meteorological station, saved the life of a climber in the area, and helped a private investigator catch a gang threatening an old botanist.[1]

Later, Pat went to volunteer at a rural hospital in the Black Hills, only to find it ablaze. It was too late to save any of the equipment, but she managed to get inside and rescue the doctor, Fred Michaels, and also met Hank Lee and Sam Burgess, a reporter and photographer respectively, on the way out. Pat convinced Dr. Michaels that they could still continue their practice even without the hospital, while Hank and Sam left to report the incident and other stories. Hank demonstrated a romantic interest in Pat, but she rebuffed his advances.[2]

Pat and Dr. Michaels received a new hospital trailer to work in, courtesy of charitable readers of the newspaper Hank worked for who heard of the news and were impressed by her bravery. However, another doctor named Roy Alding was put in charge of them, creating friction between him and Pat, as she was frustrated by his uncooperative nature and offended that the committee wouldn't allow Dr. Michaels to run his own hospital due to his advanced age. Dr. Alding warmed up to Pat and became more tractable after she saved his life when the trailer was sabotaged.[2]

Pat said goodbye to both Roy and Michaels to answer a call for aid in Forge Island, where an epidemic was taking place. Forced to commandeer a boat to get to Forge Island in the middle of a storm, Pat ended up being taken hostage by a gang of smugglers and met Hank again, who had likewise been taken hostage. Though the gang attempted to force Pat to perform surgery on their boss, she used her smarts to trick them into ingesting a sedative. The coast guard arrived to apprehend the thugs soon after.[3]

After dealing with the epidemic, Pat returned to work in New City Hospital, sometimes helping Dean Bentley with various medicine-related requests. Hank and her ended up striking up a friendship and often worked together, though Pat never reciprocated his romantic feelings toward her. Together, they managed to expose a murderer who had framed the brother of one of Pat's patients.[4] Any of her activities after this point are unknown.
