"Johnny Got His Gun": Batman and Robin capture seven gunmen who held up a S.T.A.R. Labs armored car, but an eighth gets away with an unknown object labelled with the classified military anagram "NANS," indicating it is vital to nation

Quote1 It's not his lectures I mind, or the punishment details he and Alfred work out for me. I can take those. But when Bruce sometimes gives me that quiet look of disappointment he saves for those times when I really screw up -- that's the part that hurts. I can't stand letting him down. Quote2

Synopsis for "Johnny Got His Gun"

Batman and Robin capture seven gunmen who held up a S.T.A.R. Labs armored car, but an eighth gets away with an unknown object labelled with the classified military anagram "NANS," indicating it is vital to national security.

Tim wants to continue investigating, but Bruce sends him home for a full night's sleep before his first day at Louis E. Grieve Memorial High School as a junior. At school, Tim meets Bernard Dowd and Darla Aquista, and he is instantly attracted to Darla, though he is in a relationship with Spoiler.

Johnny Warren, meanwhile, lies in wait for the eighth gunman Oliver Twain at his girlfriend Debbie Braunweis's apartment. Ollie returns to find Debbie tied up. Warren demands their boss Mr. Aquista's cut of Ollie's profits.

Tim returns to the Batcave after school and ignores Bruce's orders to do his homework, instead researching Ollie Twain and realizes he is hiding out with Debbie Braunweis. He leaves a message for Batman, who is at S.T.A.R. Labs, but doesn't tell Alfred before he leaves to find Ollie. He tells himself that forgiveness is easier to get than permission, but he still feels guilty.

Robin reaches Debbie's apartment seconds after Ollie is killed. He ungags Debbie, who warns him too late that Warren is still there. Warren holds a gun to Robin's head.
