Synopsis for "Blood of the Demon"

Batman and Robin find a routine patrol interrupted by Talia, who warns them of her father's latest discovery: an ancient virus titled Blood of the Demon by its first observers. Already, the League of Shadows' scientists have bred an airborne variant, which Ra's plans to spread across the world; Talia, repulsed by the prospect (and having failed to extract her father's original head scientist for a cure), is determined to recruit Batman against it.

Together (after dismissing Robin from the case), Batman and Talia fly to the League of Shadows' island base, a former leper colony in the Pacific. While Talia reunites - and tries to debate the virus' necessity - with her father, Batman fights his way into the League's underground laboratory, where he sets a time bomb. As the bomb goes off, Ra's calmly approaches - and reveals that Ubu has already loaded the virus into Talia's seaplane, and left for a kamikaze run on the United States.

Confident that Batman will find no other aircraft on the island, Ra's allows the furious crimefighter to flee into the nearby jungles. Moments later, however, the Batwing flies overhead, Robin at its helm (Batman's "dismissal" having actually been a coded direction for him to follow at a distance). Despite the best efforts of a horrified Ra's, Batman climbs aboard, and the Dynamic Duo soon overtake Ubu.

Descending onto the smaller plane via bungee cable, Batman finds stiff resistance, but ultimately manages to bind Ubu to the cable. With Ubu neutralized, Batman is left in control of both the plane and its deadly cargo, ending the Demon's threat - for now.
