WildC.A.T.s/Aliens #1 is a one-shot with a cover date of August, 1998.
Synopsis for "WildC.A.T.s/Aliens"
A SkyWatch escape module, carrying a scarred Flint, crashes in Manhattan. Flint's rescue and debriefing are witnessed by Void and Grifter. Flint explains that an unknown xenobiological infestation was brought to SkyWatch and Weatherman Jackson King quarantined the station. StormWatch fought the aliens while attempting to evacuate non-infected personnel to escape modules. Flint was defending the entrance to the module and she fought one of the creatures in which it sprayed her acid blood, causing her to fall into the module and sending her to Manhattan. Grifter and Void assume the aliens to be Daemonites.
Grifter and Void inform their discovery to Emp and Zealot. Emp expresses his skepticism, stating that their war against the Daemonites are over and they do not pose a threat anymore. But Grifter argues that not all Daemonites are aware that they lost the war. He urges to bring the WildC.A.T.s together to stop the Daemonite attack on SkyWatch and save everyone on board since the U.N. are considering writing them off. Furthermore, with SkyWatch's teleportation bays shut down due to the quarantine, only Void has the power to teleport the people off the station. Emp is convinced to dispatch the team.
The WildC.A.T.s are teleported to SkyWatch's Watch Hall and they find it eerily deserted. They access the Watch Hall's computers and learn the events leading up to the attack: StormWatch had discovered an alien vessel disguised as an asteroid that was passing by Earth's orbit. They sent a science team to collect samples and plant explosives to redirect the vessel into the sun. But only one shuttle came back. What Weatherman King and the others found on the returning shuttle are people with their faces attached by Facehuggers.
The team then learns that there are life signs coming from the Cold Penitentiary section and leading them to believe that there are survivors hiding there. Void teleports them to that section and quickly come into conflict with Xenomorphs. They are nearly overwhelmed by the aliens' numbers, in which Maul and Void are wounded, until Void evacuates them out of the room. Now realizing they are not dealing with Daemonites and unable to teleport out of the station with Void injured, the team carefully walk through the station to find survivors and a working teleportation bay.
The team soon finds StormWatch members Fuji, Hellstrike, and Fahrenheit to be among the dead. The latter unfortunately became impregnated by a Facehugger and gave birth to a fire-breathing Xenomorph. The situation worsens when the station's reactors shuts down, thus SkyWatch's Storm Door is also down and risking the chance the Xenomorph will use the escape modules to drop down to Earth. The team split up: Grifter and Zealot are assigned to secure the station's reactor while the rest will attempt to access Transfer Bay Two. Spartan and the others accidentally run into Jackson King, Christine Trelane, Winter, and 96 other crew members who are hiding inside a training room. Both groups agreed to work together to get off the station after Spartan scanned everyone for signs of Xenomorph parasites.
After the StormWatch personnel and the WildC.A.T.s secured Transfer Bay Two, they discovered the bay still lacked the power to transfer everyone. Christine and Winter use it to transport themselves to the Watch Hall to reroute power to the transfer bay and locking areas from the Xenomorphs while Void (though still wounded) teleport the survivors down to Earth but only in groups of six.
Meanwhile, Zealot and Grifter fight their way to the reactor room and only find it is occupied by a Xenomorph Queen who has turned it into her nest. Surrounded by the Queen's broods, Grifter and Zealot fight for their lives. Grifter uses his grenades to kill the Queen before he and Zealot are safely teleported to Transfer Bay Two by Jackson. With nearly everyone evacuated off the station, Grifter and Void remain behind to destroy the transfer bay before they teleport themselves away. Winter, however, chose to stay behind to pilot SkyWatch into the sun to ensure all the Xenomorphs are eradicated.
