The Legendary Pirate Treasure was a fabled treasure trove formerly owned by a particular group of highly advanced pirates sometime in the past that was stored within the Pirate Cave.
Overview[]
The treasure was filled with various gold coins, jewels, pearls, and at least one gold cutlass. At least one part of the treasure was also the golden walls.
The treasure had its origins from an advanced group of pirates who raided and pillaged several vessels with their technology, and hoarded it all up inside their main headquarters, an underwater cave. However, the pirates - due to in-fighting - ended up causing the treasure to be lost.
The treasure would ultimately be briefly unearthed by two parties: The Dragon Team and the Red Ribbon Army (though their primary objective was the Dragon Ball). Unfortunately, due to fighting inside the cave, the treasure was lost. General Blue attempted to make off with the treasure for varying motives, although he was ultimately forced to abandon it after nearly being buried in the rubble. A second attempt at retrieving the treasure also occurred, but it was lost for good after an explosive chest was opened.
Trivia[]
- The Treasure's extent, and also the location, varied between the anime and the manga. In the manga, it merely was enclosed inside a treasure chest that was relatively unguarded. In the anime, the treasure was instead located directly within the Treasure-Protecting God Statue, which upon being accessed also ended up having enough of it being spilled into one of the chests (with even more being revealed when the statue was destroyed during the subsequent cave-in). In addition, the anime also had more treasure found in an underwater cave just nearby and the room itself had a hidden area filled with golden walls.
- General Blue's last attempt at the treasure varied between the manga and anime in terms of not just overall actions, but also motivations. In the manga, he made an attempt to steal the chest containing the treasure after regaining consciousness, hoping he could at least salvage something from his failure to acquire the Dragon Ball itself (implying he was still aiming to steal the treasure for the Red Ribbon Army's benefit). In the anime, he instead draws one of the golden cutlasses while reveling in the treasure hoard and makes clear it now belongs to him alone. Regardless, both instances resulted in him nearly getting buried in a cave in.
