Summary

Description
English: Photo of bandleader and musician Spike Jones. Jones and his band specialized in playing music with non-traditional instruments such as bells and tin cans, as well as comedic presentations of songs.
  • Note that the tin cans pictured have labels on them for various brands. They are de minimis. The photo also dates from 1948; the labels have been re-designed more than once in the 60+ years since the photo was taken. The cans give us a good look at the ordinary household objects Jones and his band used to make music with.
  • The item has no copyright markings on it as can be seen in the links above.
