Powelliphanta spedeni lateumbilicata is an uncommon terrestrial mollusc in the family Rhytididae, endemic to the South Island of New Zealand. It is found at altitudes of between 3,000 and 3,500 ft on hills in Otago in the South Island.

The shell has a less globose bodywhorl than Powelliphanta spedeni spedeni, and in consequence a more exserted spire. The umbilicus is wider and there are no dorsal striations.

Major diameter is up to 39 mm, and height up to 25 mm.

Powelliphanta spedeni lateumbilicata is classified by the New Zealand Department of Conservation as being Range Restricted.
