Acanthochitona is a genus of chitons in the family Acanthochitonidae, of world-wide distribution.

These chitons are small, narrow, and elongated, with the valves not encroached upon by the girdle. The head valve has five slits, with the median valves and tail valve each with one slit on each side. The girdle is densely spiculose and with tufts of large stiff bristles at the sutural pores.
