Radiacmea inconspicua is a species of small sea snail or true limpet, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Acmaeidae, the Acmaea limpets, one of the true limpet families.
Distribution
This limpet is endemic to New Zealand including the Chatham Islands.
Habitat
This species is found on rocks at low tide, and also on the backs of Haliotis shells.
Description
The shell is of moderate size, solid, the apex at the anterior third, radially ribbed. The ribs range from 15 to 24 and averaging about 18. Usually the sculpture is obscured by a heavy coating of Melobesia coralline algae.
The interior is porcellaneous, pink to whitish, the margin narrowly edged in darker pink.
Length is up to 19 mm, width up to 15 mm, and height up to 8 mm.
