Govind Kumar Singh (Hindi: गोविन्द कुमार सिंह) is a fashion designer from Bihar, India who has won " Top upcoming Indian fashion designer 2011" award in TV reality show Let's Design season 3 .[1]

Early life and career

Born in Sukhpur Supaul, Bihar, Singh comes from a Hindu (Sanskrit: क्षत्रिय, kṣatriya from Sanskrit: क्षत्र, kṣatra) family. He graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Bangalore, India.

Recognition

Singh won the reality based competition Let's Design in 2011[2] and in 2010 won the Most Creative and Innovative Design Collection Award[3] in the NIFT Graduation Fashion show. He also won the Best Prêt Designer Award in the first season of Let's Design.[4][5]

He represented India in a fashion show organized by India and Switzerland to celebrate 60 years of friendship between them.[3]

Between November 12 – 30, 2008, there was a festival with the theme “blended cultures”,[citation needed] whereby Amsterdam, Holland was temporarily transformed into “India”. Singh designed an outfit for this event.[3]

He presented a collection and was selected as Wills Lifestyle Debut Designer in 2010.[3]

He won the national fashion design competition, Chrysalis, in 2009.[3]
