Avenger / Avengers

[edit]

There are two different first-party Space Invaders clones for the C64, Avenger and Avengers. They share the same sound effects but have very different graphics (Avenger is wide-screen and the aliens all move in perfect sync, while Avengers is proportioned like the arcade game thanks to putting all the score and control information on the right side, and the aliens each move individually like the arcade game). I'm not entirely sure which one was released first - this article claims that C64 Avenger was released in 1982, but it has a 1983 copyright date on its title screen, while Avengers has a 1982 copyright date. - Wrassedragon (talk) 12:05, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As far as my research goes, there was "Avenger" SI clone for C64 released (probably) in 1983 - which is a "port" from VIC and subject of this article. I will look for RS about the other "Avengers", so we may add informations about this game to the article (not easy task, as only few magazines are available online and I was born long after this age to remember all this from my own experience).
