There is no reason for deleting Buddhism in Slovenia as there are many other articles like this on. If you don't believe, watch the list of these articles on Buddhism_by_region. But i agree that Buddhism in Slovenia should be expanded. --Liebeskind 11:53, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Dharmaling,
you have added the section »buddhism in the world« including »buddhism in slovenia« to the main article about buddhism. it's not wrong to mention the situation of a/the buddhist community of a particular country but maybe you have chosen the wrong article for that. more adequat articles for mentioning slovenia and the situation of buddhism in slovenia might be: Buddhism_by_country, Buddhism_in_the_West, Buddhism_in_Europe, List of state-established religions, Buddhism by region, Status of religious freedom by country, Religion in Europe and maybe others.
best regards,
--Liebeskind 11:40, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear all, It is out of not understanding well yet how to write and where to place article that this did happen. we will be more careful as we will get more experienced with Wikipedia.--Dharmaling 16:42, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

Dear Dharmaling, as i see you have uploaded several pictures to http://en.wikipedia.org/ (the secure variant would be https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/). This is not wrong, but if a picture was uploaded to http://en.wikipedia.org/ it is only accessible for the english wikipedia. If you upload(ed) them at http://commons.wikipedia.org/ (the secure variant would be https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/wiki/Main_Page) they would be accessible for all versions of wikipedia. As i am interested in translating the articles Lama Shenphen Rinpoche and Dharmaling to german using http://commons.wikipedia.org/ would be more convenient and practical. And i'm sure that there are some people who might do french, hungarian, italian, slovene, spanish, catalan, greek and russian translations too ;-). best regards, --Liebeskind 14:18, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    • Dharmaling answer:

Done :) All pictures are now uploaded into http://commons.wikipedia.org. Thank you for the advise. Thank you also to consider translating into German. The Slovene, French, and Hungarian versions are coming soon. --Dharmaling 00:20, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lama Shenphen Rinpoche's page

We don't understand exactly what you do want. We have rephrased many parts already of the article. Furthermore, there are many pages (not just two) in the category Lamas which are using titles (Lama, but also Kyabje for example): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ole_Nydahl, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namgyal_Rinpoche, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lama_Kunga_Rinpoche, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyabje_Gehlek_Rinpoche, etc etc. So, where is the fairness? And what is the point in removing the fact that RInpoche has been trained in a Tradition but teach a more westernize Buddhism? You keep removing that part... Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dharmaling (talkcontribs)

It has everything to do with the fact that the article is written in a way that makes tries to make the subject sound like a better person, as it does with the subject of his study. The thing is that this is a factually neutral encyclopedia. If you can write the article in a way that doesn't aggrandize the subject, please feel free to do so. And, in any case (I haven't time to look at the other articles), if the other articles are wrong, they should be fixed too. The Evil Spartan 17:17, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"as it does with the subject of his study" Do you know Buddhist studies well enought to judge that? Don't you think that in 23 years of being a monk, Shenphen Rinpoche didn't received numerous transmissions and has been trained correctly into his primary Tradition, so to be consequently able to adapt it so to be better understood in the West? Anyhow, we rephrase these parts, and hope this will be ok to your appreciation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dharmaling (talkcontribs)

You might want to take a look at similar articles; such examples would be Charles Grandison Finney, John Wesley or Hudson Taylor, three 18th and 19th century Protestant preachers. While people have even claimed that those aren't neutral, they give a fairly decent indication of how to write an article without giving too much praise to the religious practice. Keep in mind that Wikipedia strives to be neutral in all things. I hope this brings clarity. The Evil Spartan 15:49, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We understood the wish for neutrality, and we have tried to be (what it would have been otherwise you could say ;)). You do mention people from 18th century... well, it is surely easier to speak neutral about someone who passed away long ago. There is also more perspective upon their life. Instead, what we tried to do, is to compare with other Lamas, how their page where written and - it seems - accepted... Thank you for your advises. As you see we did rewrite several paragraphes more inline with neutrality. Hope it is now ok.
